Hi pimd! I have taken the liberty of making a short guide about tutor bonus for all of you who are confused by it. I am not entirely sure how the mathematics behind tutor bonus works so the purpose of this thread is: 1. To explain tutors/tutor bonus to new players who don't understand it, And, 2. Start some discussion on how you guys think it is calculated. 1. To all new pimd players, you may be asking yourself these questions... What is a tutor bonus??? A) your tutor bonus is determined by the total combined stats of all the tutors you have currently hired. Therefore, if you have no tutors, your bonus is nothing. If you want a higher tutor bonus, hire more tutors. Simple! Why do I need a tutor bonus? A) You may have noticed that when you fight/dance an opponent, you lose (even if your stats are higher and they don't use defensive items). This is most likely because their tutor bonus is higher than your own. Tutor bonus gets added to each of your attacks and defends which could affect its success rate. Tutor bonus will also make jobs slightly easier. How many tutors can I hold? A) Every player has a maximum of 250 tutor slots (unless they have reset after reaching lc, which provides 50 tutor slots per 'lc reset') Since reaching lc costs over 50b, it is arguable whether it is worth doing an lc reset just to get more tutor slots that you may not even use. How do I check my tutor bonus? A) Check your profile, then check the blue 'bonus' tab. It will list the % bonus from your avatar as well as your strength and intel bonus from tutors. Obviously your strength bonus only applies to fight attacks/defends while intel bonus applies to dance, prank, and eavesdrop attacks/defends Is there any other benefit in raising my tutor bonus? A) yes! By building a tutor bonus you will be effectively 'banking' your money. The only difference is that using the ATM forfeits 20% of your deposited money, where as selling a tutor will give you profit After you build a substantial tutor bonus you will be constantly cycling through tutors and making more money (provided the tutors are active, upgrading, or underpriced). The more expensive the tutors are, the more profit you will make. You will make money much faster than fighting/dancing/warring/doing jobs. Fact: most lcbc or vip's will make over $1b/day or more without even realizing or doing anything, simply because multiple tutors have been sold when they log in. And lastly: make sure you have a decent tb before you lcbc or you will face a sad reality. You will rarely beat other lcbc without double teaming and if you attack anyone weaker than you, you will be called a bully/jerk. That concludes the beginners guide to tutors. If there's anything I left out that you can think of, feel free to contribute Now for section 2. How is tutor bonus calculated? A) this would be a guess based on my own experience.. your tutor bonus of strength/intel gets added onto your strength(red)/intel(blue) energy bar respectively. E.g. If your strength bar is 10,000,000 and your strength tutor bonus is 2,000,000, you will be fighting and defending fights with a 12,000,000 strength bar. Avatar bonus will be added on there somewhere too. Let me know if it makes sense or if you know how it is actually calculated. Thank you for reading Sorry for posting such a long thread And have a great day
Thanks. Actually I should have proof read it. I wrote this guide a few weeks ago (before all the sudden changes) but I couldn't post on forums back then. I saw it saved on my phone and thought I might as well try posting it. Please note: it is now approximately 4b to lc
Damn the user profile layout has changed.. Obsolete guide sorry ppl. But the key points are still true
