Remember the day I met you? The day you sat alone in the swing set when we were 5?

Remember the times we held hands? The time we held hands when we were 6?

The time you clung onto me in the Haunted House? The time we dressed up as Little Red Riding hood and the Big Bad Wolf when we were 8?

The day I saved you from the bullies when we were 12?

The day... I admitted I love you?

    Chapter 1, Moving In.
    ---------

Brushing her hair while looking out the window of her dad's camping truck, Jaqueline Wilson sighed. It was the fifth time she had moved, after the incident that caused her dad to move from place to place, trying to forget what had happened.

When Jaqueline was 14, a tragedy had happened that caused her father to go insane. Her mother had died in a car accident. Jaqueline's dad wasn't really insane, he just developed a bad habit of moving place after place, and being extremely stubborn about it. Jaqueline knew she couldn't persuade her dad, so she'd sulkily follow him every eight months they'd move.

"Dad... When will we get there?"

Jaqueline's sister, Melanie, sat imaptiently on the bean bag and was drinking her milkshake, when her dad replied,

    "Soon."

Melanie didn't ask him anymore, and Jaqueline knew better. She just glanced at her sister, who was know drawing in her notebook. Jaqueline put away her brush, and was now reading a book, the book she had been reading for months; especially on this occasion.

    'How to make friends'

Jaqueline wasn't a very social person. In fact, she was labeled "emo" or "goth" or "nerd". But what she really was, was insecure and quiet. Shocked by her mother's death, it had a great impact on her life; especially her personality. Before the accident had happened, Jaqueline was more of a cheeful person, and very active. She had won five medals for volleyball, and was the star of the swimming team.

But soon, her glory had faded away.

This event didn't affect Melanie the way it did to her. In fact, Melanie was still the loud, anxious, typical 10 year old ever.

As for her dad, he was always silent. He didn't read stories to them anymore, he didn't smile the way he used to, ye wasn't the care free typical dad they used to love. He wasn't their dad.

This sterotype was silent, serious, and stern. Both Jaqueline and Melanie had always wondered what had happened to their dad, but the answer was obvious. Even if they didn't want to accept the fact, it was going to haunt them for the rest of their lives.

    "We're here."

Jaqueline had snapped out of her trance, and Melanie had picked up her bags as if on cue. Jaqueline hastily put away her things, and picked up her bag like Melanie, and exit the truck.

    "..."

It was a typical neighborhood, with trees, houses lined up in a row, abd teenagers riding on skateboards and walking. Melanie followed behind their dad, to a huge five story house they were moving into. Her dad had suddenly shouted out for their personal nanny, who quickly ran out of the truck and grabbed their bags. The nanny rushed into the house and put their bags near the doorway, and ran out as quickly as possible.

Their nanny, Janet, was a skinny young lady of the age of 24, with pale white eyes and pretty brown hair. She was color blind, but it didn't stop her from being the optimistic woman she is today. Jaqueline smiled at Janet, and so did Melanie, who gave her the brightest smile she hadn't shown for many weeks.

Janet rushed back into the truck, and collected all the possessions and valuables left in there.

Melanie, who raised an eyebrow at her dad, kicked a ball that hit her leg, and hissed. She resembled a stray cat when she did that, and it would frighten both her dad and Jaqueline.

Jaqueline looked away and walked into the house, following her dad who was showing their daughters their rooms.

"This is your room, and this is yours, Melanie."

Her dad pointed at two rooms opposite of each other, that was at the end of the hallway. There was a window facing the end, and the sun rays reflected upon the windows, making Jaqueline shield her eyes. Melanie had caught up with them, and was facing away, taking looks at each and every one of the rooms in the house.

Jaqueline came from a wealthy family, very wealthy in fact that she could afford the mose outrageous, overprived thing that ever existed, although it would cost their life savings. Jaqueline sighed at the house her father had picked, and had guessed it was extremely expensive. Her father was wasting thousands of dollars, but he didn't seem to mind at all. In fact, it was beginning to look like he was actually trying to waste the money, which would result to them being homeless, and starved.

Jaqueline ignored the thought, and walked in to see the room was painted pale turquoise, and the curtains white. Her room had a balcony, which satisfied her. She could take relaxing breaks staring out into the sun, while drinking something cool. Jaqueline also looked at her king sized bed, that had white drapings that covered the pillars that stood out on the ends of her bed. Just as she thought her room was complete, she looked everywhere to see she had a closet built in on the top left corner of the room, a piano set right next to it, and a computer set on the bottom right corner of the room. Jaqueline silently face palmed herself, and was fuming inside.

    "Are you insane dad?!"

  5. Chapter 2, Bundle of Joy
    --------

Jaqueline closed her eyes and breathed in and out until she was sure her rage calmed down. She walked around her room, and sat down at her vanity set she spotted earlier, and took out a brush. She began burshing her straight brown hair, and looked into her reflection.

Her hazel puppy eyes, perfect pink lips, and posture.

She was like a greek goddess, Athena and Aphrodite combined.

Jaqueline sighed and walked away, throwing her brush on the floor, and turned on the wide screen TV, which was installed in her room. Typical of a impossibly rich girl.

15 mimutes later, of boredom and suicidal thoughts, Jaquline heard a knock on her door.

    "Come in."

It was Janet, Jaqueline's previous nanny and Melanie's present nanny.

    "Jaqueline... Your father is calling."

Jaqueline pursed her lips and closed the TV, faking a smile for Janet, and walked out of the room, down the stairs, and into the living room her dad was lounging in.

    "You called for me dad?"

Jaqueline was looking bemused, while her father was stuffing his face into the newspaper. Sitting in his comfy red armchair, and recieving a disturbing glare from her daughter, Arthur Wilson removed the newspaper and looked at her.

    "Yes."

    "What?"

Arthur had stayed silent for a moment, until he began talking again.

"What do you think of having a stepmother?"

    Jaqueline flinched.

    "Well?"

Horrible. Terrifying. Disturbing. Those were the words she wanted to say.

    "Unthinkable."

Her father nodded, and pursed his lips, thinking.

    "A sister?"

    Jaqueline raised an eyebrow.

    "An adopted one."

    Jaqueline didn't move.

    "For Melanie and you."

    Theee dogs were enough.

Their dogs, Kesha, a siberian huskey, Cocoa, a toy poodle, and Skittles, their pomernarian.

    "Three dogs are-"

But her dad shoved her up the stairs, into her room, and slammed the door shut. It was a sign of saying,

    "I've made my mind."

    "Uh oh..."
