She looked in the mirror, seeing the face that everyone hates. Tears begin to roll down her the side of her face. She wiped away the tears, suddenly becoming angry, her hands forming fists. She punched the mirror, turned around, and leaned against the back wall. Slowly, Sarah started sliding down until she was sitting on the floor of the bathroom. She broke down crying.
The rest of the school day was a complete blur for Sarah.. She was walking home when Zeke, her gay best friend, who sge was in love with, came up behind her and kissed her on her cheek. It always comforted her even though she knew it didn't have the same meaning for him as it did for her. "Hey Sarah," Zeke said to her. "Hey..." Sarah replied, wiping a tear away before he saw. "What's wrong?" "Nothing.. besi-" Zeke cut her off, saying "What happened to your hand?" "I punched a mirror in the girls bathroom during 2nd period. No biggie.."
She walked home with Zeke, talkong about nothing, laughing at his stupid jokes, just plain messing around. They walked past Zeke's house to Sarah's not even realizing it. "Sarah, why did you punch the mirror today?" Zeke asked. "Because I hated what I saw..." Sarah replied after a few seconds. "Sarah, you are beautiful, why do you hate what you saw?" Sarah never answered, when she was about to reply, they got to her house. "Walk me to school tomorrow?" Sarah asked as she was walking up the driveway. "Always." Zeke replied, smiling. He walked off, sarah watched him till she couldn't see him anymore. When she got inside, she went in the kitchen to find her alcoholic mother passed out on the floor. Sarah woke her up, helped her to her room, then went to her room and she started her homework.
