"Lady Elizabeth, it is past the time you are supposed to be sleeping," Jared said when he entered Lady Elizabeths room. "Please give me five more minutes!" Lady Elizabeth pleaded. She was on her bed reading a rather large book. "Eleven year olds like yourself should be in bed by this time," Jared responded. Lady Elizabeth buried her nose into the book. "You ought to be in bed especially now, your coronation will take place tomorrow," Jared continued. "But..." Lady Elizabeth began. "It is Emily's wishes," Jared said, then he took a bow and left the room. Lady Elizabeth watched him exit the room, and with a sigh, she closed her book. She placed it on top of her dresser before she changed into her nightgown. She then walked back to her bed and laid down. She put the satin covers over her. She thought about the prince and the pauper in her book. The idea of switching lives fascinated her. "Is she in bed?" Emily asked Jared when he came sneaking back down the steps that led to Lady Elizabeth's room. "Yes," Jared replied. "Good, now where were we?" Lady Elizabeth asked, leading Jared down the hall. "The coronation?" Jared said. He looked down at Emily. She had long brunette hair tied up with various hair accessories. Her eyes twinkled when she looked up at him. "Ah, yes, my dear sisters coronation," She replied. "I believe this is unfair because I am eldest, Jared," "You should remember well that you lost your royal stance years ago," Jared said, looking straight ahead. "I remember," Emily said, looking down. "Shall we proceed into the gardens?" Jared proposed. "Let us," Emily replied. The two linked arms and walked off toward the gardens.
Lady Elizabeth's eyes fluttered open. Her three maids were already buzzing about, getting her deep red gown ready and whatnot. One of the maids glanced over to her. "She's awake," She whispered to the others. She then walked over to Lady Elizabeth. "It's time to get up for your coronation," She said, looking down at the girl. "What time is it?" Lady Elizabeth asked sleepily, rubbing her eyes. "It is about five in the morning," The maid replied, checking the jewel-embedded clock on Lady Elizabeth's wall. Lady Elizabeth looked around sleepily then rose out of bed. ___________ Sorry it's short, I gtg to school in like 1 minute
"Emily! EMILY!" Jared yelled as he ran across the royal gardens towards Emily. Emily was at the far side of the gardens, kneeling down to admire a white rose. She did not look up when she heard her name. "Emily, Lady Elizabeth has awoke, I suggest you help her get ready for her coronation," Jared said when he reached her. "What am I? A maid?" Emily replied, looked over her shoulder towards Jared. "All I am suggesting is that you be of some help, you are privileged enough to stay at your rooms in the castle, so you should be of use once in a while," Jared said, looking down at Emily. Emily looked back at the rose bush. "I do not wish to help," she said crossly "I should be the one getting ready for coronation." "Please don't bring that up again," Jared commanded. Emily scowled.
Elizabeth stood in front of a large mirror. She was shocked at how long and tiring dressing for coronation would be. The maids spent countless hours putting on numerous petticoats and skirts. The corset was killing her. The long white gloves she was wearing were gold-embroidered and itchy. Even as a royal family member, she wasn't used to such discomfort. One of the maids put on the final skirt. She felt so heavy in the wobbly heels. "We're almost done, Lady Elizabeth," the maid said, finishing off Lady Elizabeth's brunette hair with a golden comb. "How long until the coronation?" Lady Elizabeth asked, studying her own brown eyes in the mirror. "About four hours," the maid working on tying bows into her dress replied. "Four hours, that's so near," Lady Elizabeth whispered more to herself than the maids. "Delilah, do you mind passing me that ribbon over there?" One of the maids said, addressing another. Lady Elizabeth never knew the names of her own maids. "Yes, Cynthia," The maid called Delilah replied, walking over to a vanity and retrieving a long blue ribbon. "Thank you very much," The maid Delilah addressed as Cynthia replied. Lady Elizabeth never thought about the personal lives of her three maids even though she has known them for almost five years. "We're done," Cynthia said after she tied to ribbon around Lady Elizabeth's waist. Lady Elizabeth looked at herself. She was transformed. "Only three and a half more hours, we best be getting to the main hall," The third maid told Lady Elizabeth. Thank you uh... Pardon me, what is your name?" Lady Elizabeth said, stepping down. The third maid was first surprised, then her face turned a light pink. "My name is Lillian," She replied and smiled. The three maids and Lady Elizabeth made their way out of the room.

Emily waited in a box above the soon-to-be queen's throne. Jared had forced her into a silk, violet dress. Jared was sitting next to her.
"Emily, you should be happy for your sister," Jared said, putting down the book he was reading. "Yet I'm not, and if you can make me happy, please try," Emily said, not even looking at Jared. Jared sighed and looked forward. Lady Elizabeth was in front of the throne, looking down upon the masses of ladies, lords and other exclusive people who had been invited. Emily spoke no words as the crown bearer came out. She looked away. She studied an exquisite painting of a phoenix flying. "You should look, you're just showing your scorn for Lady Elizabeth." Jared whispered. "No," Emily said bitterly. "You're so stubborn," Jared whispered, looking back at Lady Elizabeth. Emily continued to study the paintings in the great hall. The crowd screamed and Jared gasped and fell back into his chair. "What?" Emily gasped and turned. Lady Elizabeth was cowering behind the throne and an arrow was wedged into the seat of the throne. Emily first gasped, then she managed a smile. "Again?" She managed.
