"No," I laughed. "You're joking." "No." He grinned, showing off his sharp teeth. Were they always that sharp? "Luke, you—" All of a sudden, he grabbed my hand and pulled me into the huge gouse. He pulled me up a few stairs, and shoved me into a room. "It's Friday." "Yes." "Tomorrow is the party." "Yes." "You are coming with me." I stayed silent. "You love me." "No, I don't, Luke!" I yelled. Something inside of him cracked. His eyes softened. "I've already put my mark. It's either you, or I never love." I gasped. "Give me a chance. One date. That's all I'm asking." I sighed. "Fine." He brightened. "See you later." --- "Where are we going?" Luke took a nearby coat and draped it over my shoulders. "All you need to know is that you'll need this." He picked me up and ran. I closed my eyes and buried my face into his shoulder. When he stopped, I looked up. The moonlight brightened the woods, and the trees made a protective fortress around us. We sat on a log and he put his arm around me. There was a comfortable silence as we watched the moon. He closed his eyes and whispered, "You're so beautiful." He stayed there, closing his eyes, listening to nature. I did something that surprised him. It even surprised me. I kissed him.
"You can't be with Kyle." "Why not?" I asked, angry at him for limiting my decisions. "He'll hurt you." He hesitated. "He's not who you think he is." "Yes, but you kidnapped me. I think you're the dangerous one." "You don't—" "I do. Thank you for telling me what to do." I glared at him and got up. I walked into the forest. He blinked furiously and followed me. "You're going to get lost." I turned around. "It's okay, Mr. I Know Everything. I'm sure Kyle will come to find me." All of a sudden, I heard a twig snap. "What was that?" I asked Luke. He turned around, eyes, alert. Four men came out of the trees. They wore leather jackets and dark sunglasses. I saw guns in their pockets. A fifth man came out of his hiding spot. I gasped. "Kyle." He smirked. I caught a glimpse of two fangs peeking out of his lips. "Emily." "What are you—" "I'm dealing with our little friend here." "What are you?" "I'm surpriesed he hasn't told you. I'm a vampire." He said simply. Before I knew it, he lunged at Luke, who growled ferociously. "Kyle, stop it. This isn't the way." He stopped. "I'm sorry I didn't come sooner." "Why?" "Now, you care for him. And we can't have that."
