From her eyes

  1. It used to be so magical,
A little burden of joy was there world, seems reasonable,
    Then another,
    Son, daughter, father, mother.

    Days out, they had,
    Holidays, they had,
    Christmases, they defiantly had,
Then one day, things started to go bad.

    The days grew longer,
The dad would not speak to her,
She would sense uncertainty and insecurity,
Things nobody should sense, when they're one big happy family.

Days grew longer, nights grew shorter,
The parents up all night shouting, the only motherly role now? The daughter.
Time passed, and things became clearer,
Divorce papers and the status 'single' slowly becoming clearer.

Alas, the dad moved out, packed his things and away he went,
In a crummy flat, paying an unfair rent,
The children weren't allowed to see him,
"Find somewhere better! My kids aren't living in a bin!"

Surely enough, he found somewhere better,
We could finally see him again, by the words of a letter.
It was sad at first, seeing him alone..
It wasn't like it was at home,
He wasn't the big king of his throne.

She watched her dad with a steady eye,
Afraid that his soul and his spirit will eventually die.
She argued with her mum, updating her on his situation,
Who then got angry, and told her never to mention.

She felt trapped and just needed a dad,
He was never coming back, all her faith went bad.
She always believed in the fairytales,
But slowly became depressed, when she watched reality fail.

Now the dad has a wife, and the mum is alone,
He's once again, the big king of his throne.
The girl is always in a constant circle,
Trying to find a little miracle.

Her mum? She's had a few,
The girl? She's only liked one or two.
The youngest? Too young to care,
That's when she realised: life's not fair. [/]

She hopes one day her mum will find someone,
To look after her when she has moved out and long gone.
The youngest will move out in about 5 years time,
And then that will be his time to eventually shine.

Both of them are older now,
    And have both realized somehow,
That everything isn't as perfect as it seems,
Hell, sometimes it feels like you have to pick teams.

They say mistakes make you who you are,
    And in my eyes,
    We are all a star,
We've just separated from each other through space,
    Which, unfortunately, time cannot retrace.
