Okay.. That's weird. My post didn't post fully... Hmmmm. Right, this is a revival of my original story, and the first two chapters are taken directly from the original with no changes done to them (Except for spelling corrections). Do NOT post in this subject / thread askin' to be in the story, as I will ignore you and decline all further requests. There'll be a seperate subject / thread for you to sign up. Okay, enjoy the story!! :3
The sun rose slowly over the magnificent Beau Fields, casting its golden light over the grassy plains. The fields themselves were small bumps in the ground, decorated by thousands, if not millions of flowers that differed in size, colour and type. No two flowers were exactly the same, no matter how hard you attempted to find a match. A few small animals frolicked in the flowers. A rooster let out its morning call, alerting all those that could hear that morning had arrived. Young Jodie Heartsword shot straight onto her feet, searching fervently for any enemies. Her hand rested on her blade's hilt, ready to draw and strike at any given moment. Her blonde hair drifted slightly in the direction of the wind, and her baby blue eyes narrowed into slits. In one spinning motion, Jodie moved her body around, drawing her sword and easily slicing through five kobolds, their heads now resting on the floor. Blood gleemed on her sword, Heavenstrike, as she sheethed it. "And that makes it Jodie one hundred and fifty three, kobolds zero." Jodie mocked the dead bodies as she searched throughout the kobold's strange clothing. Finding nothing of worth, she continued her travels north, towards the shady town of Fraghorn, seeking employment as a mercenary. "If there're no jobs... Someone will pay." she thought to herself as she made her way through the flowers, stopping occasionally to kill more kobolds. They were easy to kill, and each kill seemed to cause Jodie to feel just that little bit stronger and, of course, Jodie enjoyed killing them. She gained a sweet satisfaction knowing that she was ridding the world of a nuisance. Hour after hour went past, and by now Jodie was hot and sweaty under the midday sun. Upon finding a river, she slowly stripped off her mail chainlink leggings, and her chainmail chestpiece, leaving on her ruby coloured shirt, and jumped into the river. It was cool on her skin, and it refreshed Jodie as she swam in it. Her slender body flew easily through the water, as Jodie laughed and enjoyed her small amount of "free time". Further upstream stood a man, resting on a platform. Invisible to the naked eye. Spotting Jodie, he let out an evil grin, his rotten teeth showing through his smile. He rose his hands to his chest, and between them formed a small ball of blue energy, ice cold and making small cracking sounds. In one fluent motion, he span and threw the ball down into the river, large ice stalagmites forming in a direct line heading for Jodie.
Jodie turned, spotting the ice coming straight for her. But there was nothing she could do - her weapons and armour were laying on the bank. Pain blossomed in the gashes that were sliced into her flesh as the ice stalagmites launched her into the air. Jodie's body flopped into the water, her blood dying it a deep crimson red. She resurfaced, gasping for air, and started swimming for the shore. Jodie dived, just in time to dodge a shadowy missile fired at her. She reached the shore, and instantly threw on her chestpiece as a ball of fire slammed into her, nearly knocking her off her feet. She stood her ground, and in a single motion her legpieces were on and her sword was drawn. Jodie charged at the now visible man, nimbly dodging spell after spell despite being injured badly. The man stood his ground and fired spells continuously at the female as she ran to him. The distance between them closed quickly, and Jodie prepared her sword to strike. Her opportunity came, and she took it, slicing downwards with a loud "Hya!". However, instead of a corpse lying in front of her, there was instead a small note, covered in a red substance which Jodie assumed was blood. Reading the note, Jodie's eyes grew wide, and she screamed as an explosion sent her flying backwards, her world fading into black. Jodie was awoken by sounds of metal clinking and clanging, her head pounding and throbbing. She tried to sit up, but was physically unable to and let out a small squeal as she collapsed back down onto something soft. A man rushed over to Jodie's side, and held his hands a few inches above her. A brilliant white light radiated from his hands, and Jodie felt warm, relaxed and light. Then, as quick as the light appeared it disappeared, and Jodie felt re-energized. She tried to sit up again, but felt cool hands pushing her back down. "Alright, alright, I'm lyin' back down now!" she protested. "Good," the man replied, "you need to rest." The man's voice was smooth, deep, mysterious, yet also calm, kind and reassuring. Jodie tilted her head to see who was helping her, but the man moved. "Wh- who are you?" Jodie inquired. "Me? I'm Beriothien. Beriothien Manwë." The man replied. "I'm an Elvish field mage, and I happened to find you in one sodden state indeed. Gashes, bruises, broken limbs. You're going to be out of order for a long time." "What? What happened?" Beriothen had returned to Jodie's side with a bubbling blue liquid in a metal cup. "Drink this, sleep, and when you wake up we'll speak." he placed the cup at Jodie's lips and forced her to drink before she could protest. The drink was sweet like honey, and Jodie quite enjoyed the taste. However, before she had even finished the drink her vision had faded to black and she was asleep. Beriothien took the cup away, and checked outside the window beside the bed. Nobody in sight. "Perfect." He whispered, closing the window and pulling down it's cover.
Jodie's head was spinning when she awoke, and she had to fight back several waves of nausea. As her head cleared, she looked around. She was laying on a wooden bed, in the corner of a one-room... House? Could it be called that? She could clearly see the kitchen area and living area. Everything was kept neat and tidy, showing that the owner was clearly well organized. Several hundred books were stacked into a bookcase which reached the top of the room, and by the side of it was a small seat, on which a black haired elf lay, a book on his chest, deep in sleep. Jodie crept out of bed, discovering she was already in all her armour. Her golden chestpiece and legpieces had been cleaned, and she herself had been washed. 'Freaking pervert,' Jodie thought as she searched around the room for her sword, 'must have kidnapped me, damn sicko'. Jodie was no searching in the kitchen area, looking through all cupboards and cabinets but finding only pots, pans and herbs, when she heard the elf stirring behind her. "May I ask what you're looking for?" The elf asked in a deep yet harmonious voice. Jodie span around, ready to fight. "Give me back my sword!" She demanded. "Your sword?" The elf chuckled, "You have no sword. You had none when I found you, only the clothes and armour you're wearing." "What?" "Mmhmm," the elf confirmed, "just what you have on now." "Bullcrap, I had a sword!" Jodie advanced on the elf. "Where is it?!" Jodie swung out at the elf, who dispersed into smoke, reappearing behind her. He grabbed both her hands, and held them tight behind her back. "Sit down, we'll talk," He said in her ear, his grip tightening on Jodie's wrists, causing her to squeal slightly, "unless you have other ideas". "N-no, I'll talk." Jodie surrendered, realising the elf was too powerful for her in her current state. "Okay, good. Also," The elf pushed Jodie on to the seat, "I don't think I introduced myself properly earlier. Of rather, I doubt you know who I am." the elf pushed his straight black hair from in front of his face to behind his ears, revealing his wide golden eyes, framed by dark sharp eyebrows, and a strong jawline. "I, for the second time, am Beriothien Manwë. Field mage of Ashar." Beriothien smiled, but Jodie couldn't work out if it was reassuring or menacing. "Pleased to make your aquaintance". Meh. .__.'
