Yes, minors are already on PIMD. Obviously. The point is that most clubs — if not practically all the clubs I’ve personally seen — are +18. So the minors who are already here are, in many cases, already getting around lying about their age. And now there will probably be more of them. Possibly much younger ones too. Once they realize that giving their real age means they can't access most of the social side of the game, do you honestly think none of them will simply lie about it? Because that would be a little like believing in Fairytale, where a unicorn farts rainbows over tiny mushroom-shaped fairy houses and is also your best friend. 😂 The one time I knew for certain that there was a minor in the same +18 club I was in, I was absolutely not okay with it. The admins had known and had kept it from the rest of us, so I left. And that's exactly the issue I'm trying to point out. Once someone lies about their age, they can interact with adults who have no reason to believe they're a minor. They can join clubs. They can make friends. They can trade. They can join RP clubs. (And speaking of RP clubs, here's a funny little personal story. I come from D&D and various forums — yes, I'm old 😂 — where we used to roleplay Harry Potter, LOTR, Shannara, etc. It wasn't sexual. You simply created a character and interacted with other characters in that universe. So when I discovered that PIMD had RP clubs, I was genuinely excited. IMAGINE MY SURPRISE WHEN I FOUND OUT THEY WERE SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. 😭) I'm not personally interested in those clubs, but if they're made up of consenting adults, then honestly, have fun. That's none of my business. But if a 14-year-old joins one while lying about their age, what exactly is everyone else supposed to do? Do all the adults in that club suddenly become pedophiles? No. But, From an ethical and moral standpoint, how do you think they might feel if they discovered that they had a minor between them? If a 14-year-old joins a regular club and an adult makes a flirty or suggestive joke because they genuinely believe they're talking to another adult, does that adult automatically become a pedophile? Again, no. But they have still been put into a situation they never knowingly agreed to. And it doesn't even have to involve flirting or anything sexual. Imagine adding someone because you want to do a trade. You start talking occasionally. You become friends. You exchange completely mundane messages: "Hey, how are you?" "Good, you?" "Nice weather today." "Yeah." Nothing weird. Nothing sexual. Nothing inappropriate. Then you discover that they're 14. And later they go around saying, "I used to talk to Dino almost every day." Do you really think being associated with that situation would be pleasant? That's what I'm talking about. I'm not saying that every minor is dangerous. I'm not saying every adult is secretly looking for minors. And I'm certainly not saying that an adult who unknowingly interacts with a minor is automatically a pedophile. I'm saying that adults should be allowed to reasonably assume that the people they're interacting with are actually the age they claim to be. Because otherwise, ordinary interactions suddenly carry a risk that most people never knowingly signed up for. And if ATA previously estimated a 3% chance of encountering a minor in-game, then yes, I think it's perfectly reasonable for adults to be concerned that this number could increase after the rating change. And no, sweetheart, this isn't about people randomly sending nudes. (First of all, here's another little secret: you can't even send images through PIMD PMs. 😂) We're talking about normal people. People who log into PIMD to joke around with their friends, relax, trade items, join clubs, meet people, or simply kill some time. People who shouldn't suddenly have to wonder whether they can make a harmless joke, add someone for a trade, or become friends with another player without first wondering whether that person is actually an adult. That's why people are concerned. And finally, let's be very clear about one thing. Since yours: "So just don't sext them or send them nudes?" sounds like it's something I usually do, in your opinion, let me tell you that you don't get to insinuate I am "easy" or a "pedophile" simply because you disagree with me. I don't go around randomly adding people and behaving like a pervert. That's not what I do, and you have absolutely no basis for implying otherwise. If you disagree with my argument, argue with my argument. But leave personal insinuations about me out of it. That's a much more reasonable conversation to have.

Dear ata your loyal long standing ADULT members are PISSED off about this change. Its been how many days now and yall havent done anything? You can keep the part where the age is checked but STOP pushing the game to minors. They should NOT be on this game AT ALL. ALOT of us are pissed off because we were that teen who lied and know how easy it is and the type.of people who interacted with us KNOWING full well about us. Not only are you putting minors at risk of the gross people that make there way in... but youre also putting your LOYAL ADULT players at risk. By all means put methods in place to get rid of kids... but do not push FALSE advertisements to them for a game that you cant even offer. You guys will lose many many players over this... Don't forget guys you can report a game on the apstore for improper rating. And they most definitely have it rated wrong now even with the changes thwy made.
If people choose to flirt with someone they dont even know then its on them. Female avi doesnt always mean the player is a chick, make avi doesnt always mean the player is a guy. Does that mean they are suddenly lying now to? You have a level of responsibility when you choose to change the tone of conversation to flirting or any sexual nature with anyone including other adults. Its up to you to make sure you know who you are talking to first. And yes i would have no issues talking to a 14yr old coz theres nothing wrong with general conversation. The conversation likely wouldnt last long coz i naturally generally dont get on with people younger then me but i see no issues with it. I know you cant send photos on pimd. You were the one that brung up people go off pimd and on to socials. Photos can be sent on them

As always, this had two results: 1) SERIOUS people who use that word for what it really means; 2) Less serious people who use that word to make everyone go against someone. If a minor joined PIMD lying on their age, they will lie on the server too. I have no problems in talking with minors too, as far as I know they are minors. My sis is 14. I talk with minors everyday. I have problems in talking with minors, when I dont know they are minors. And, clearly, the restrictions will push them to lie. And since we're in a forum where everyone can express their opinion, I can do it too. I like being free to decide if and when to talk to a minor. If you hate free will, that's not my problem.
Yes pedos are a danger to kids. They are all over the internet and in real life. Kids are not a danger to adults. That is the point im making. You have a personal responsibility to make sure the things you say are appropriate for the person you are talking to. Its not the kids fault if you dont want to take responsibility for your choices of how you interact with strangers on the internet
