PIMD itself is an adult space, especially as it is catering to adults, to change the age rating is opening doors to it. I love that there are some precautions in place but that should be there with the age rating being 18+, there are parent who look at it and go okay sure but if they were to actually look into the game they wouldn't want them to download it. Even if 3% of players are in this age group, that 3% should be protected as much as possible even if it means losing them as players. Many players have disagreed with even just 17+ saying it should be 21+. We cannot rely on google to auto-verify ages, there will be some who will slip through and some will not be caught by us to report them as kids 13-17 can be really smart about these kinds of things, I know I was. Even if not, many kids play on their parents phones using their app store accounts. Even all those points aside, what does this censoring look like? What kind of gameplay is it when taking all of that away? It's not much at all. If they can see club, can they see club chats and walls? There are still people who become friends out of game through things like that. Are forums open to them? If so, how much of it can be censored? Can they see? If they were to join the pimd disc and get added by people with bad intentions what then? Please rethink this through, I have tried my best to keep the benefit of doubt through every ata decision but I am majorly disappointed and honestly worried. If this is to happen, you may lose more than the 3% you're trying to keep.
Thats an easy bypass though. Of course I dont want it to happen, but as someone who started playing when I was 12 (im now 23) I just dont think theres a true way to prevent it without real verification. Im not sure if thats allowed or how it would work though
They cannot see any social aspects, public or private. This includes campus, club chat, dms, club walls, and player walls... literally anything that involves chatting.... they cant see it. As for discord, they are currently working on adjusting that to make sure minors cannot access it and anyone found to be underaged will be banned immediately. The gameplay is terrible and thats the point, ata is not trying to make it a fun game for them to stick around.
Did Marcie not already answer these questions in here post? She has an entire section dedicated to what 13-17 year olds cannot see or do.
Yeah and my question is why are adults having that same problem when we are adults ?! like make it make sense none of this is adding up
I think the major concern for most players is knowing kids will lie about their age to gain access to the full features of the game. You’re now saying the system isn’t perfect. Why not spend time and resources perfecting an appropriate system that will ensure this does NOT happen?
I think everything you said proves more to why the update came into place, We don't know how the age verification works but there's added restrictions rather than how you got on game when you were 12, going only by your example
In the App store it says 12+ y'all rediculus and absurd bringing children on this app. Why take such risks with children! Everyone can put any age in the app and you opening it to kids!! DO BETTER!!
As a mom of a 13yo, hell no! Absolutely no freaking way I'd let my kid on this app. Don't care about the restricted access, kids barely use their real age on apps.
Are your age settings correct in your app store? It sounds like this feature is done automatically depending on your age settings in your respective app store. Of course, we all know there are always bugs when a new feature is implemented and I'm sure ATA will be happy to remove your accidental restrictions if you send a help ticket.
I have questions!? 1. Communication for the underaged - so no communication at all or can they communicate with other underaged people? 2. If they can't communicate at all. Are you changeling start up goals for them such as. Ask for a gift in campus or send / recieve 10 root bears 3. If they can't communicate they then ultimately they can't really play the game . Because you need to rely on social things to even be able to basic stuff in the game. So ultimately they will quit (which I'm hoping was the point of this ) . Cause you can't really join a club, flash or do anything to be able to truly upgrade without communicating with club owners.
I’m guessing this is supposed to affect new Apple ID creation and not those who have a credit card assigned to their account for the past 13 years/ making purchase (depend on the region ) Source : https://support.apple.com/en-ca/125662 (for Canada/ English version)
I don’t believe there is such thing as a ‘perfect system’, people will always find a way around it for example, there were plenty of stories of people bypassing government enforced age requirements in the UK using death strandings photo mode it seems no matter what is put into place to protect people there will always be someone who finds a way around it.
1. No communication whatsoever 2. Starter quests have been adjusted to reflect the lack of social features 3. Correct, that is the point
Some clubs already specify 18+ / 21+ on their club wall. It won’t help the club itself (admins) whatsoever to recruit if they have such a rule within their club as club owner decides.
