ATA this is ridiculous.....

They are not going 13+ and this rumor has been debunked by several mods that have contacted devs to confirm. PIMD will be remaining 17+ and the PIMD Discord was actually increased to 18+ only.

They have to make the app more "family friendly" with the censoring due to new regulations by Apple and Google. They need to comply to keep PIMD in the app stores. Age verification processes are being attempted to being added but will take longer to implement. This was all explained in the Chat Channel Updates post. PIMD actually isn't the only app being affected by this. I use Tumblr and it was actually removed from the iOS app store a few years ago for not immediately complying with certain regulations (iOS is or at least was more strict than Google) and was not allowed to be reintroduced until Tumblr complied with Apple's demands.

Also, if you do come across anything that is censored that seems either excessive or incorrect, you can send a help ticket to flag it directly to a developer or let a moderator know so they can contact ATA on your behalf. There were several things that ATA has had to fix with the censoring systems that weren't intended to be censored, or were part of a loophole in the censoring system that was overlooked.

All that being said, I totally share in your frustration with some of this censoring -- hell, I had to change my IGN! I just find making sure to have all the information about why this is happening can help me understand the situation better, think of more realistic solutions, and direct my anger towards the one that in my opinion deserves it more (Apple and Google).

Hopefully once some sort of age verification system is in place, the rules can be loosened a bit more -- as Marcie explained it the post, even though PIMD is ages 17+, they need to make sure the content is 13+ friendly in case a minor stumbles on the app. With an age verification system in place (which is very hard to implement especially on a very international game), hopefully that wouldn't be as much of a concern anymore. 🤞

It is annoying in the mean time, but from my understanding the devs' hands are rather tied if they want to keep PIMD in existence.

Perhaps I haven’t seen these particular avis, but unless the male or female organs are shown clearly, there is no difference between this content and what can be found on Facebook, Instagram or other social networks that are not considered 18+ platforms. Moreover, on Facebook and Instagram, such areas are often visible but covered with underwear, and this content is not massively deleted, even though it may technically violate their rules. I haven’t seen anything like that in PIMD.

 

All thise for them to go 13+, hope the game burns.

No clue how a game clearly labeled 13+ in the App Store is somehow *not* going to allow players of that age. There’s been so much back and forth in this and I’ve yet to see ATA actually address it. Especially now that this update has made this change in the shop. To see it being said that KIDS won’t be able to chat, send gifts, see avis… like what’s the point of any of this? So very tired of seeing this game just get worse and worse. The back to back to back lucky boxes, shards, the sunglasses nonsense, the insane chat warnings/mutes… on and on. Like why. Stop spending and send a message. The player base deserves better. Communication has never been ATA’s thing but even this is somehow still worse than ever.
