  1. Nothing fancy because this isn’t something to be flashy about and I will try to be direct.

PIMD has always had a “minor problem” that got so bad at one point that it even made it on a local news outlet in 2021. This didn’t kill or even destabilize the economy of PIMD if anything the game maintains its consistency and growth with declines only coming from bad updates such as these or bad hunts. Even the occasional CP issues pub had didn’t deter anyone from the game, everyone commented then forgot.

Which brings us to the game being 13+.

Genuinely, what in all the levels of hell convinced y’all that this was a good idea? This has nothing to do with platform regulations or requirements. This is a direct choice that y’all are making to widen the range of potential players you have while ignoring the risk you are exposing them to. That is it. Money.

“Why protect underage players if the game is 17+” Oh because we are required to by the platform.

“Why is moderation so bad for content sellers and those looking for underages?” We don’t condone any of this but we can only moderate so much.

“Why is this person unbanned when they were specifically caught trying to get cp? Or underage rp?” Just report them again and have evidence it is still happening.

PIMD has survived the last 15+ years with some of the worst “child protection” policies I have ever seen minus ID verification or number verifications (which would immediately kill PIMD). Due to the massive push from the community to maintain what guidelines did exist and servers made/active hunters to expose these people (thank you all for what you do). But let us not pretend that any of these new choices being made are due to “child protection” or “making the community larger and more inviting” or even more hilariously “not what was intended when you made channels”. This is STRICTLY to have the game get more ad revenue, expand the reach of your own ads, potentially increase growth of the game by a minimal amount, and general monetization by manipulating adolescent minds just like fortnite does for example. It is simply about the money.

Will this change anything about the game? Fundamentally no. Don’t believe me? Here:

Apple iOS requires apps rated 13+ to potentially contain content unsuitable for children under 13, including infrequent medical or treatment-focused content, references to alcohol, tobacco, or drug use, sexual content or nudity, realistic violence, or simulated gambling; or frequent contests, profanity, crude humor, horror, fear-themed content, or cartoon/fantasy violence.

Google Android primarily uses the International Age Rating Coalition (IARC) system for most regions, which includes a 13+ rating for content with more mature themes than younger audiences can handle, though specific criteria depend on the regional rating authority applied.

So what should you expect to see after this change? More micro-transactions, more ads (maybe you get a benefit from it), influx of younger players. But don’t worry, that new Avatar that comes out to encourage the idea of “Cosplay isn’t consent” with its half naked body exposed? You will still be able to spend the hundreds you need to have in order to get it.

Ultimately channel changes was a mistake, majority of the silencing policy update was a mistake, and most importantly; going 13+ is going to be a horrible, unchanging, child endangerment change that could possibly be made. Just focus on making moderation better, implement better policies for content sellers, aggressive rp requests, cp sellers/requesters by applying permanent bans immediately; and lastly focusing on understanding that your average player is most likely 23+ now. Stop treating your game like it is or was ever a child friendly game. It is a game specifically designed with a concept that only 18+ are going to understand or be familiar with, just act like it.

triplethreat, Oasis and V_Witchy_101 like this.
  2. I wholeheartedly agree. For now, it does appear the game ToS still states the game is 17+ and under 17s will have their accounts immediately disabled.

  3. I did some research and apparently anyone that received a help ticket from a developer stating PIMD was moving to a 13+ rating was given incorrect information. PIMD is remaining 17+ for the time being. As stated by @Day on the PIMD Discord.

  4. Hi! Yes this would be true. More information should come out shortly.

The PIMD discord has already switched to being 18+ instead of 17 🙂‍↕️ So we aren’t heading in the direction of accommodating minors.
