Exactly and this is why I made a point to put it here. I know you made a reply saying this is for real life scammers. I just know what she asked me for personally but if you look at her wall and her gifts there’s tons of stuff people could’ve easily paid real money for or felt obligated to gift as ransom. And either way what she’s doing is wrong. I get wars and farming is all game stuff but sending in decoys to start wars and then hold people for ransom isn’t okay.
If she is demanding ec value items then you can report her. But the rest just sounds like basic farming and someone who just doesnt care about common war rules of the game. It sucks but it is part of the game. The more you moan and make a fuss about it the more you will make yourself a target especially when you cf so easily
I didn’t cf, someone else in our club did without anyone knowing she did for the entire club lol but thanks anyway I guess?
To correct what Grief said, ATA will only step in if the farmer refuses to set a CF, harassment occurs or other breaches of ToU. Paying a CF and continuing to get farmed is not necessarily abuse, and may not result in any action taken.
What is it with all these bento scammers recently I’ve been seeing an increasing amount of them, using brand new accounts. -Apparently using these so called Alts for speakers so they don’t get permanently banned on their main - Needing to add them on discord or other social media platforms to hide messages etc form ATA and only then will you find out their ‘Main’ - Needing to pay them in real money - Claim they usually sell to t10 accounts (it would be interesting to see if this is true, which I doubt it) Of course I know this is all a SCAM but they can be convincing if you are really needing bentos and don’t know any different
I’ve been seeing more and more of this being promoted but I didn’t even know that it ran this deep. 😭 This forum needs recirculating with the way how I’ve heard of people being scammed left, right and center.
I added a few of them female and male accounts just too see what they would say since they don’t random add like the sugar mommas, and got the same list of conditions, they used to be more obvious cause they would mention PayPal, remitly etc or simply put ‘selling bentos for $’ in Campus . But that would have got ATA’s attention and silenced their accounts. Agreed, this forum definitely needs updated and attention
It was updated for this in 2023 when we started to see people impersonate devs 🙂↕️ “Updated Note 11/16/2023: Developers will never request account information through DMs or contact you from a third-party source. If this happens to you, please check in with a moderator or communicate through support.” The purpose of this thread wasn’t necessarily to list every available “scam” but rather to tell best practices to avoid them. Best rule of thumb is, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is 😔
Thank you Day for that information, as you said the last update was 2023, the purpose of my original post was to inform people of what is current. I fully understand that it would be impossible to put all the scammers in one place we’d be here for a lifetime. I’m a little bit older and can spot scams a bit better than before game and real life, due to experience but for new people joining the game 18/19 years old may not be and don’t know any better, I know I was more naive when I first played this game If this isn’t already in place, this thread could be pinned somewhere, or have it in a place where newbies can easily see it, I was here when this thread started so I knew it existed but for people who are new and needing to know the ‘rule of thumb’ they can easily find it
It is pinned and has been! I meant more that the 2023 information is still relevant to what you’re saying, as it already warns players that Devs will never ask for personal information on third party apps.
