My favorite one is when you had to lbh hit to collect all the stuff. It made it fun to work for when we didn't have just cat clubs. Now it just boring we don't got to work for noting really.
The dragon dances would probably be my fave, especially since they are to bring good fortune 🩷 I was also born in the year of the dragon 🐲 so i vibe with it hella
I didn’t exactly grow up celebrating Lunar New Year myself, however one of my close friends in my early days did. Her family was ever so welcoming and shared their food and celebrations with me. I remember being super young and having my friend’s grandmother explain the stories and meanings behind each of the Zodiac Animals as a bedtime story to us. It made me curious to learn more and as I grew up, I began to understand the significance of various traditions that were upheld during LNY. I received my first red envelope that day and felt a sense of familial warmth and love as I was included in the traditions 🫂 🩷
I dont celebrate personally, but ive always found the lunar zodiac animals and elements super interesting!! Im a rat 🐁
I meant uh…the actual Lunar New Year holiday…not the in-game event. You’re welcome to re-submit if you’d still like to enter, as this entry does not qualify.
If given a chance, I would love to experience the Lantern Festival, which marks the end of Lunar New Year celebrations. The idea of streets filled with colorful lanterns, cultural performances, and traditional food sounds magical and meaningful.
I would really enjoy going to a Lunar New Year parade, especially for the dragon and lion dances, the fireworks, and the lively community celebrations that celebrate good fortune and new beginnings.
I've heard about the Lunar New Year over the years, I always found it to be interesting. I never really went into depth with any research, except once when my cousin was born on a fire year. The most I've taken part in it though, would be for 'Lantern Rite' on a game. XD IGN: KingKey
We don't really have many celebrations for CNY here but a few years ago some of us friends did get-together to eat noodles and dumplings and exchange red envelopes. Did end up drinking and dancing to bollywood songs later though. Good memories.
Hi. As someone who is taking part on celebrating LNY, every year is really worth waiting for. My husband is a chinese and i'm a half chinese. Every LNY, all families gather together to eat, to enjoy and to cherish the special day. I love how every person has smiles in their faces as we look at each other's faces that we haven't seen in a while. The adults giving "hong bao/ang pao" or the red envelope to all the kids in the family. The loud noise you can hear when the male adults in the every family drink together while playing "shǎi zi". So for me, LNY is one of the holidays i keep on looking forward to celebrate. 🙂↕️❤️
The Year of the Snake never really fit me. It felt too slow and restrained, like I was moving against my own nature. The Fire Horse, though, feels different. It speaks to energy, motion, and taking risks, and I’m entering this new year with real excitement and high hopes.
Every year in December my family and I go to the Zoo at night to a giant lantern festival. Each year has a different theme. My favourite theme was from a couple of years ago, “The Great Lanterns of China” which had a whole section that showcased each of the zodiac animals. They were insanely good and it’s an experience I’ll never forget. - I hope I did this right (sadly imgur is blocked in my region otherwise I’d post some picture of them )
I am not sure if this is included or treated as part of the Lunar new year, I think it is based on google; but I definitely would love to have a first hand experience with the lighting of the lantern. Being under those thousand lanterns must be so surreal.
My fav Lunar New Year memories are always the same—eating 🧧ʕ ᵔᴥᵔ ʔ Yummy pineapple tarts, almond cookies, and warm sesame balls are HIGHLY recommended omnomnom. 🎊 Happy Lunar New year all! (& shoutout to my fellow zodiac horses 🐎)
Every year I celebrate the Lunar New Year with very close family friends with the rest of my family. We always get together for a huge dinner and end up exchanging red envelopes. It’s not big, but after that we always just sit around chatting and catching up, sometimes we will all go down and watch a couple movies. I haven’t been able to attend the last couple of years due to being away at college, I really miss it all 😔
Definitely baking the holy trinity goodies (honey cornflakes, nutella tarts, mini spicy popiah rolls) and snacc’ them after 😋 Getting a heavenly smelling kitchen + angpows r jst bonus anws 🤤
My favorite part of LNY is definitely the part where everyone comes together to make food. There’s nothing that brings people closer like food does, because in a way, it’s a universal language. Oh, and the money 💀
I never really celebrated Lunar New Year - let alone any holiday really lol - for specific reasons I won’t get into (not bad reasons, just personal 😊); but I did celebrate it when I was younger. I personally have little to no memory of the celebrations I went to for only 2 years, so bear with me. The celebrations I did go to, I didn’t really know anyone else and there was only a hand full of kids, as it really was an adult’s dinner sort of thing. There was this one girl I played with both times I went. Literally kind of all i remember, not even a name🥹 Fast forward to the present, I find out she and her family are my customers. Her dad said that I seemed familiar and then when I told him my mom’s name he knew exactly who I was lol Nothing super extravagant or interesting, but I do hope everyone has a Happy Lunar New Year 🧧 Hope everyone’s wishes come to fruition this year 🫶
My city celebrates Lunar New Year in style. One of the highlights is the annual parade, I love attending this event every year. Watching the incredibly talented lion and dragon dancers, hearing the beating of the drums and the loud firecrackers, such an unforgettable atmosphere. Afterwards I explore the street markets and enjoy all the delicious foods.
