Thank you for all the feedback we’ve received on the Waves of Light Shard Box; we have been reading every comment. We’ll be continuing to check on the comments on this post, the original post, as well as Discord. We understand that this release caused frustration and disappointment for many players, and we want to acknowledge that impact. We must continue learning and improving how we deliver updates and releases and all of your feedback is an invaluable aspect of that. Our team has been reading all the feedback we’ve received around this content, and have made the following changes which are now in place: Reduced story quest requirements – You will now only need one of each tier’s BASE avatar to start the story quest (down from 7 avatars to 3). This means you would need: Pearls of Fishdom OR Drifting Together Swept Away OR Sheer Devotion Seahorsing Around OR That's a Moray Increased drop rate for non-tradeable Waves of Light Furniture Mystery Drop Boxes After starting the story quest, these will drop from Parties a bit more often. This should make it easier for players to acquire the full dorm so that tradeable Waves of Light Furniture Boxes can start dropping sooner. We’ve made these changes in the hope it can address some of the feedback we’ve received, and we’ll continue to monitor the community’s thoughts on it as we move forward. So please, continue to share it. 🙏 Lastly, I want to take a moment and say sorry to iZelda in particular, and anyone else who was upset by my earlier comment. In hindsight, I understand why folks felt the way they did and shouldn’t have made light of a situation that I understood shortly after was very serious to the community. My words caused significant hurt in a way I didn’t expect and I take ownership of that. I’m here to strengthen the connection between ATA and our community, not create a disconnect. I can't pretend I still don't think the requirement to unlock is excessive, but personally, I appreciate the efforts to read, digest and react to feedback. My biggest issue, is EC has real world monetary value, the boxes to obtain the shards can ONLY be obtained with EC. The drop rates are not guarenteed. This is giving a vague/ luck based real world monetary value on unlocking the story. I personally would prefer more transparent pricing, and just a clear set price for content. I hope this feedback is considered. I didn't see any feedback about the drop rate once unlocking, and can't imagine that was a major concern given it's available for a year, but I presume there had been some or within your own testing.
The unlocking of the side quest is still a bullshit mechanic imo but at least you somewhat listened???? Idk give us a decent story pass next time.
The only right thing in this announcement is the public apology to iZelda. Other than that, I think we’ve all already shared how we feel about this new quest in the previous post. Some will find it fair, and some won’t. That said, I do appreciate that you genuinely took the feedback into consideration.

Tbh what's the difference, only those players are really willing to spend money.... at the end of that day you're spending money leaderboard or not....

Happy to see some things were tweaked fairly quickly with this, but I'll still be passing on all of this content. I don't want to have to get multiple avis to then have random luck decide if/when I would get furni that could take months to get an entire room. In my opinion there is still never going to be any avis or furniture nice enough for me to go through all of what this requires to get it. If I only like one avi but also like the furni, I don't want to waste either ec to get shards directly or bentos to buy them off others and waste another 2 or more avis I wouldn't ever use. That's not an efficient way to spend either RL money or in game bentos when I could use either of those options later on things I'd actually like and use way more.
Any plans to compensate/ refund the shards to the players who already bought avis they wouldn't have otherwise invested in just to unlock the special quest, prior to the changes? Perhaps if they raised a ticket?
