the stance, the clothing, even the general style is all the same (not including the middle avi) it’s just crazy that it’s seems when Asian culture is implemented in hunts, there’s a “base” they use so they all look similar. The comments above yours even said they look similar but we all have our own opinions♥️ personally, tired of all the reskins and I would like new content especially if it’s for different cultures and such🥰
You can advocate for more inclusive content without putting down another group that is also struggling for the inclusivity. We are all fighting the same battle and I personally am more than happy to include them in my culture as this holiday is MEANT to be shared.
Very well said. I also want to point out that not all Asians have the same complexion. East Asians are commonly represented in the media, but many other parts of Asia have people with darker complexions too. So to me as an Asian person I thought this hunt’s variety was nice honestly.
I had mentioned this in another discussion, but I think it’s a bit hard to deviate from a certain look sometimes when it comes to cultural content, since there’s a fine line between appreciation and appropriation. I also personally don’t see the similarities? But agree to disagree.
Not a huge fan of Asian style, but this is super pretty and I'm glad y'all did a LNY. I'm hoping for some yummy food stats! I'm not a huge fan of that guy with the shadow snake though because it looks incredibly similar to the guy with the green snake from the last Asian event. I think Day posted the pics. Seeing the pics made me see them as almost identical in their pose, which feels weird.

I mean I do agree to an extent, when it comes to facial and skin color, yes it is hard to say what or who someone is based on that but I’m referring to the overall look of them. The clothing, stances they share and even the hairstyles are too similar to be some coincidence. I just don’t see how fair it is for Asian culture to be represented so similarly when it can be very diverse yet we don’t see that when it comes to these avi, they look very very similar to past Asian themed avi and it’s sad. I mean there has been others pointing out how they look similar. I think most of us like to see many cultures and all the beautiful parts in them, not the same parts in different colors. Doesn't mean it’s a bad hunt but I prefer to have new content and so do others, that is all.
As an artist in my profession and as an Asian person I just don’t see the similar posing honestly 😭 But valid! I think the content is definitely “new enough” though since the vibe is pretty different?
