Jumpit bit her chewed on her bottom lip, thinking of how much work it would take to get mr.pink back to the blockade runner. "do you think you can wall about a mile? I sleep in the blockade runner just a little further down the beach. If you can make it there, I have food." After about half of a second he answered Jumpit with a little more animation. "okay let go! I'll need some help, and it's going to get dark soon!
He held out his hand, two wooden beaded bracelets on his wrist. "The name is Apoc." Jumpit shook his hand then reached her arm around his back. "you can call me Jumpit. I don't have a real name anymore, anyone that ever knew it or used it is long gone from here." They stayed in silence for the rest of the trip to the hotel. Right up until they came to the path. Blood splattered the plant life at the mouth of the pathway to the beach.
"hold on a second Apoc." Jumpit looked towards the weeds surrounding the pathway. Pretty tall, but not tall enough to hide a dead person from the sunlight she thought.
"alright. It doesn't look very fresh, so let's hope they've either moved on or they are still having a meal. Let's beat feet Apoc." Jumpit tucked her arm a little tighter around him, knowing she was going to have to haul him inside pretty quick. A rustle to the left forced her to take action. Sit here pretty and wait to get eaten or book it for the door and pray both your asses make it. Sometimes praying is all the option you got. Apoc seemed to have a renewed will to live, as he launched both of them towards the door. A piercing scream echoed after them, driving them hard to the blockade runner. That's when you knew the dead found you. The only form of communication they have. "AHHHHHH!" in any language means move your ass!
Once they were both safe on the other side of the glass they looked back to the source of the scream. "Jesus, it's a kid!" they both looked at it with horror on their face. Not only was it a kid, it was probably only 3 when it died. It's chubby face and body still looked like a child, but that's as far as the resemblance went. Blood tears of the plague ran down it's cheeks, in it's gore splattered mouth was a chunk of flesh. It held in it's hands a partially chewed hand. Two words came to Jumpits mind. Freaking gross.
"I can't kill that. Doesn't matter if it's dead already, I just can't kill it. It's getting dark and you need food. My room is on the 3 floor, let's just go." Apocs mouth started watering at the thought of food. "I need food, yeah. I don't even want to look at it anymore."
