  1. Fathers Leave

Her name was Sarah. She was a beautiful and smart woman. Her first love she met in the years of high school. They dated and loved each other until one night he asked the big question. They became married and had two children, Alexia and Dominick. During the first years of raising their beautiful kids, the couple grew apart. The father grew irresponsible and didn’t want anything to do with his children, so they went their separate ways.

Sarah went on with her life. She met another. He loved her and her children. They dated a few years. He moved into their home. The narrator doesn’t recall a ring on her mother’s finger, but they were together for quite a while. They had two children together. Over the years the male grew very angry and abusive towards the mother. She tried to save up and leave as soon as soon as she got the chance, but she was only a nurse. Shecouldn’t afford to leave and feed fivemouths with only her job. She couldn’t tell anyone either, who would believe her? Tragedy struck (this part the narrator will not share). The family went to court against the abusive father. They lost, and that disgusting man ran to another single mother. The father of the first twochildren thought it was better to take his kids back. They, unfortunately, were still not old enough to realize this wasn’t the best of ideas. The children grew up apart. The older kids would visit their mother over the weekends. One summer, the oldest, Alexia, couldn’t stand it anymore. Her father had grown to be just as abusive (emotionally) towards her and her brother. She told her mom she wanted to move back, move away fromthe jerk she never knew would be her father. So they moved.

Her mother had been dating a man who already knew what it was like being a father, but his ex wife had kept his children from him. They both understood. So the pieces clicked, the broken hearts together to form a full one. The man move din with the family and they were content. When the older children moved in, nothing changed with the father. He loved them all. Of course, the eldest was suspicious, she remembered what happened the last two times. But her mother was happy, so she was. Yearspassed, the father and mother were married. But history tends to repeat itself. The father began talking to other women. The mother found out, and hadconfronted him about it. He stopped, and she was alright. But, she couldn’t be too gullible this time. Not everyone’s perfect, remember? Later on he talked to a few other women. One was three doors down! There was something wrong with him. He wasn’t himself anymore. He was always angry, lashing out. He wanted to move away. He didn’t want the family anymore, he didn’t care. He left them one morning. The mother was at work, the children on spring break, so they were sleeping in. He left barely anything behind, just memories.
