It’s that time of year again! It can get pretty lonely, but let’s not focus on that. I’m making this post so we can all share our favorite memories from Valentine’s Day. We out here being POSITIVE. I’ll go first: Some time ago when I was younger I was at the store with my dad. There were giant teddy bears on the shelves and I remember just being so excited about them. So I asked him for one and he told me no. As kids are, I was disappointed as hell that we didn’t walk out of the store with it. Needless to say, when Valentine’s Day came around and I got home from school, the bear was waiting for me in my room.
I don’t rly have any cute valentine memories from years before. I once had an online *kind of* date with a stranger and we played video games and chatted if that counts. This year shall be my first fun valentines
My ex (one of my best friends) took me to see a live performance of one of my favorite podcasts, "Welcome to Night Vale" as a surprise Valentine's Day date. It was a great night. I also tripped over a gift basket in the doorway of my apartment from a secret admirer on Valentine's Day one year and smashed my head on the hallway wall. That was cute.
In my junior year of high school, I was telling my best friend how orange roses are my favourite. On Valentines day, there’s a red rose on my desk. Apparently, my male best friend over heard my conversation and got me the rose. Though he felt stupid when he realized he got the wrong colour. I loved it anyway. He’s such a dork.
In high school you could pay for these candy grams during Valentine’s . It was where the choir would come give you a box of candy hearts and sing to you. Someone paid for me to be sang to every period and every day for a week. Lol it was the cutest thing ever but I never found out who did it.
My favorite Valentines Day memory is now going to be from today because uh I’m now engaged to the love of my life who proposed at our late lunch (dumb classes getting in the way of our anniversary-) picnic after kneeling behind me for a solid two minutes while I was setting out our food which resulted in me screaming just uh a little bit because he scared me and now he won’t stop messing with me about it. He’ll hold my hand and then look at the ring and squeal like he’s mocking me >:c but now I’m (still) screaming (happy screams-) on the inside because I’m so happy and I’ve cried eleven times already according to him (even though it’s probably around eight okay jeez) but um yeah that’s all okay bye ?
I think mine will be this years. It was my first with my fiancé (to be husband next year), and surrounded by family. It was nice to just do some small meaningful presents, have a sweet dinner the two of us and spend the evening snuggling bingeing some old cartoons
