  1. Disclaimer: I am in no way promoting incest. I'm simply a very ignorant and curious mind.

In hindsight, this thread might spark a lot of off-topic debates, but I've been thinking..

    Why is incest morally wrong?

Yes, incest is genetically bad as it might bring forth recessive diseases on their offspring. Yes, incest still very much irks me and a majority of the population.

But biological reasons aside, why is it wrong?

I personally feel that this issue is as simple as two adults who are of healthy mind choosing to enter a romantic relationship with each other. It's almost like childhood friends, just.. really close ones.

I agree, its prohibition is good for the sake of possible unhealthy offsprings, but if we reached a future where this could be solved, would incest be morally wrong?

I'd like to hear your opinions on this, but please keep your opinions on-topic.

  2. You tryna sleep with your dad?

  3. out of all the things to think and talk about yo weirdo ass pick this ???

  4. I'm sorry but it's 6am & this got me so shook & confused

  5. Definitely not, but if I did, I wouldn't need your opinions.

I don't think incest is weird, when you compare it to all the fart sniffing rp that Pub came up with. that kink confuses the fok outta me

  6. I feel like this was a bad choice of words. Because like morally big yikes.

  7. It is, but it's honestly more confusing for me. I grew up listening to civilizations and royal families who would inter-marry due to various reasons.

Fart sniffing is.. just such a confusing kink. :/

  8. This thread didn't have to be made, in my opinion.

  9. A household may have genetic insularity that causes problems, but there is another form of genetics... Involved with knowledge and ideas... Memetic insularity which can be a problem.

The passing down and protecting of grandpa's delusions is another dark side of incest, especially if these ideas are radicalizing, stupid, prejudicial, etc.

  10. Thank you for your opinion. :c

I do agree that incest should still be prohibited due to all the health issues it poses, but why is it a moral wrong?

  11. Because bad ideas, self-reliance, a greater polarisation between us and them, etc. May form... If you wanna see morality as being compromised by alienation and unfamiliarity, those things are fostered in inbreeding households.

  12. I guess I can see that issue might occur if the household continues to inbreed as a tradition of sorts, but if two people who are related happen to enter a relationship purely out of love, why is it a moral wrong?

  13. It isn't, but it should be regarded as such because not everyone can be trusted to make the nuanced but right decisions in a potentially dangerous practise.

  14. would that make any potentially dangerous activity morally wrong? :/

  15. No... because it needs to have a reasonably high chance of damaging others or society as a whole. Widespread incest is problematic to societies as a whole.

  16. To be fair, in a religion sense aren’t we all brothers n sisters or something

  17. i can think of a number of potentially dangerous activities that has a very high chance of widespread damage, but they're not quite moral wrongs. :/ owning weapons is a big one.

Yeah, but I reckon once you've got really distant blood relationship, it's not really incest anymore.

  18. Owning guns for "self defence" is morally wrong. However weapons are items that can be controlled and licensed with required standards of behaviour...

We can't do that with incest.

You can't license those sorts of life decisions.

  19. it seems like you wanna sleep with some of your family members ? cause why else would you question why is it morally wrong to

  20. Curiosity ^

You don't need a reason to question things.
