Where in the Bible does it say God is giant and can fly? Like, if you don't believe in what it says that's okay (I don't either) but don't disrespect the religion and make up shıt about it, in the same thread that you ask people to stop disrespecting Satanism and complain about people thinking it's illegitimate.
I may have worded that very wrong, if everybody was perfect, and someone did something wrong, a "sin" it wouldn't have a label, satan wouldn't even be a thing and neither would the church
Actually it was more to get the 2 types of satanism separated, not all satanists are in a cult, not all satanists are sacrificing virgins and I was hoping to educate people on the differences of them, not to prove that it was legitimate, or to disprove anything, nor was it my goal to say something like that, i'm trying to reply to everyone and i'm not thinking fully before typing and submitting
So do you believe Satan is an actual non-human being or not? Because I mean if that’s how you think the church came into existence...
No, lol, it actually came into existence when Anton Levay was working his carnival gig as a pianist, he'd work days in the carnival and nights as an organist for the church set up in tents and on sundays he'd notice the same men that would go to the carnival lusting after the women or whatever have you in the pews asking for forgiveness, only to turn around and do it again the next week, and thus an ideology was born, at least that was part of it
Kierkegaard, a Christian Philosopher, talks about 3 spheres of existence which we always exist within but which we may not always consider. The first is the "aesthetic", selfish, you-based, and often seen as hedonic. This is the initial and smallest sphere. The second is the "ethical" or social sphere. This is about you in relation to others. Your society's laws also play a part in this, however the ethics don't necessarily have to be defined by law. The third is the "religious" sphere. This is in relation to a higher truth. Things that are socially acceptable at one time may not be acceptable at a later time. The distinction between the ethical and religious spheres can sometimes be crossed by people as none of these spheres are necessarily unique. An example of a cross-over is that Ethics is based on the unique needs of other people. If we had no "aesthetic" identity, or self, there would be no ethics. No self to be interested in and no other either. So you see? Religion generally takes into account the needs of individuals, and also the needs of society. What your Satanism acknowledges is that sometimes when trying to live religiously, peoples' aesthetic/hedonistic needs are neglected. They don't seem to be totally compatible. But there isn't a single society where aesthetic needs are always met. I'm willing to bet that even in your own Household the aesthetic and ethical spheres conflict without the presence of religion. Sometimes you need to compromise. No getting off while at the dinner table. For me, religion is meant to marry aesthetic and ethical life. It's a way of living, a few different ways of thinking that allows you to not always be at odds with others. "Turning the cheek" may sound unpleasant to you, but how does cooperation sound? If Good and Evil are to be taken as Order and Chaos... What side does Satanism fall under? Individuals acting on their own self-interest, disregarding others, competing, atomized. A system comprised of elements like this is completely chaotic and is no in and of itself functional or good at performing any functions except self-destruction... Whereas if elements of systems share common goals, cooperate, occasionally turn their cheeks, and maybe even sacrifice some of their needs for others and for a greater purpose, the system is gonna run better. But it's in the society's interest to care for its constituents and not to forsake them. I hope you can picture this point of view and consider it. If everyone cares for themselves, some people will be messed up. In a chaotic system, the atoms still get more roughed up and picked on than they do in an ordered one. It doesn't mean a better standard of living.
That was a long read, I like to think of satanism as a chaotic good, because its saying to only worry about yourself while not treading on other people's paths, give the respect as in which is given to you, you cannot love thy enemy for if you did your basically allowing him to walk all over you, I do see where you're coming from and I respect it, you've shown me respect therefore I shall show you respect, as simple as it may be, everyone is obligated to their own opinions and thoughts, I agree with that, however if you treat people the way you hope people will treat you, you'll get walked all over and taken advantage of, and I'm slowly learning that as time progresses. I cannot allow that to continue, I am in the situation I'm in now due to being too friendly and treating others the way I wish to be treated. I no longer feel that is necessary at this point in time, I'm not going to go out of my way just to be rude to someone that hasn't done anything to me, I will simply give them the respect they give to me, and if they want to disrespect me, than I shall show them disrespect... I dont know if I'm getting the right message across but I hope you understand what I'm saying
I know, it'd be a long process heroically saving those virgins out the kindness of my heart... that I don't have
