I do stay away from most religions until they try cramming it down my throat like a majority of them try to do, I bought the book for the sole purpose of getting rid of the people that try to sell you on their churches, but wound up really getting into it, and you said it started as a 'buisness'
Believing in an actual physical G-d is for numpties... And numpties who disband from religion due to that skepticism are numpties none-the-less. They don't even make good atheists. That's why I refer to them as level 1 atheists. That's what this movement seems to me but I have nothing to back that up, only a feeling. Make a religion based on it? Churches should be taxed, as should certain companies and people... But tax evasion is a thing that isn't specifically for churches. Irrelevant though. Religion gives us certain ideas. Perhaps they're a bit dogmatic about those ideas, but they are ideas, and you're pretty free to express your opinions in Christianity. It's sects of religions with harsh blasphemy laws that you ought to watch out for... But even still, religion doesn't tend to suppress thought any more than any other ideologies do. Far Left authoritarians are the biggest suppressors of free thought in the modern Western world imo. And most of them despise Christianity and WASPs anyway.
I don’t subscribe to any specific religion, I’m agnostic, and I’ve spent years resenting Christianity. But like. At least many of them think they’re actually doing good by preaching, like possibly saving a soul from eternal damnation and stuff like that. Laveyanists just get off on being edgy and provocative.
The religion doesn't cram itself down your throat. It's practictioners that do that (and not all of them!), and there is a big difference in that.
Christianity seems to have expansionist doctrine, especially when you consider the ease with which one can convert. I would support a curbing of preaching and "saving others" but I feel like in the game of life and death, religions that have expansionist and grabby traits are more likely to survive in the long run. And as you satanists will attest: Survival of the doggest, fatherkisser!
Guaranteed if you were anywhere where there is religion and you openly state that you're a satanist everyone will give you dirty looks and/or try to persuade you to change your mind, or that if you repent now god will save your soul
