?? I never had a cat.. Only dogs and no, coz someone said that hugging dogs give them anxiety
It depends on the individual dog's personality; some breeds are also more predisposed to enjoy hugging ー such as lap dogs like Shih Tzus or Pomeranians, or breeds bred to be super friendly like Labrador Retrievers or Golden Retrievers. Cuddling =/= hugging though. My dogs don't personally like hugging but they love cuddling.
If your dog doesn't enjoy it, you can always train your dog to enjoy it with positive association: give them treats when you hug or cuddle with them, and pet them lots, too. (Also learn to know when your pet completely isn't in the mood for it either; you don't want to force them into it because that kind of cancels out the positive association.)
What kind of dogs do you have? Even if you don't know the breeds, are they on the bigger side or nah?
Oh yeah they're pretty big! German shepherds are pretty eager-to-please so hopefully you can make some progress. Here's a good article that lays out how you would go about doing this. Luckily, GSDs are one of those breeds where you generally can "teach an old dog new tricks".
Excuse me, ma'am but these kitties exceed the cuteness threshold and I'm going to have to confiscate them. Thanks.
