Am I the only one who isn’t a fan of ATA’s new avatar style? I like the way they used to design their older avatars, now they just look plastic-y and cartoonish rather than detailed and semi-realistic like before. Here are a couple examples: Halloween 2016 vs 2017: Thanksgiving 2016 vs 2017 I’d also like to mention how ATA was too lazy to put the girl’s eyeliner ON her face, but they just left it overlapping her hair. Anyways these are just my thoughts?
I would like the older ones if they were less detailed. They wayyyy over do the older ones, clothes don’t have that many lines or shadows, and the hair also looks lined way too much as well. I only prefer the newer style because, though it’s lacking at times, it’s not over detailed or lined incorrectly as much. The shadows and clothes often make a lot more sense in the new style.
I do like simplicity in avatars. The OG ones are very respected because of their simplicity, but they were also college-themed, and relatable characters... With so many hunts, making simple and original avatars is just tricky. I wish a.t.a would chill on the avatars and get us back to the college theme of PIMD rather than the themes of each dumb, irrelevant hunt. Simple and iconic avatars can still be made in a simple style, but if we want hunt-related ones... more details would be better.
They probably work on several hunts at a time, seeing how hunt breaks are nonexistent anymore, which is less time to design a good firm event with nice avatars, which I’m sure many players would prefer instead of b2b boring events. But they’ve focused on profiting more than making the players happy.
That’s partially why I use old Avis most of the time ?there’s some lazy Avis lately, there are two specific ones I realized are the exact same just different theme. still wish they’d have handicapped/less model sized/etc Avis to increase the diversity but eh
No dude I’m so glad someone else finally said it!! Like I understand they go through designers and artists and whatnot but it just seems lately all the Avis required little to no effort and it hurts me.
the eyeliner overlapping the hair means the hair which is in front of it is thin in a way that the eyeliner are still seen...i guess?
