Thomas sat in the third pew on the right, dressed in a black suit, his black hair all in a tangle, dark bags under his eyes and a hunch to 'the young mans back. There was nothing even remotely joyous about this loathsome creature. He was a mess, a screw-up and some would even say an alcoholic. But he had a good reason for it. Reader, what would YOU do if you had lost the love of your life? If all the hope and love in your world suddenly disappeared? Wouldn't you want to just end your very existence? Wouldn't you want to give up, and let time destroy you well-being? I know I would. And that's also what Thomas wanted. Nothing else. Nothing but to be with his lovely, blushing bride, Tristy. Tristy Claire. He could still remember the first day he met her, at the public library. ~FlashBack, One Year Ago~ Thomas walked into the Santa Barbara Public Library with a spring in his step! He had gotten his big promotion and Veronica had been extra flirty today, so flirty in fact, that Thomas had asked her to dinner! And she, of course, had said yes! 'oh man what a day!!' he thought to himself. As he walked thru the entrance door, he noticed that his normal reading spot in the back corner was taken. Taken by a lovely girl, with Violet hair and auburn eyes, her face was defined and showed the hard times she had for sure suffered thru. She was cross legged and the cargo pants she was wearing had holes in the knees, while her black T-shirt was wrinkly. It was noticeable that she had worn the clothes yesterday, maybe longer. Thomas approached the beautiful girl, and she didn't even move a muscle. So transfixed was she, with her book, that she didn't notice. He bent over and snapped his fingers a few times in front of her face to get her attention. When she looked up into his deep blue eyes, it was love at first sight. "Ma'am, i was wondering if I might sit down here next to you? It's my normal spot...." Thomas said, blushing slightly. The girl smiled and held her hand out. "Hi! I'm Tristy. Tristy Claire. Feel free to join me!" he shook her hand and smiled back, while sliding down onto the floor next to her. "Thomas Morgan. Nice to meet you Tristy! So you mind telling me what book it is that your reading?" and with those words, a debate over Stephen King and whether he was the best author or not was launched. They laughed and they had a grand time. Eventually switching numbers and parting ways. By the end of the day, Thomas had decided two things. The first being that his date with Veronica was definitely cancelled. Two was, one day, he would make Tristy his wife. ~Present Time~ Thomas sighed in despair and sadness, trying to hold back his tears as they closed the casket and lowered it into the ground, forbidding him to ever see her face again. Where did it all go wrong?!
