  1. Altho u can tell me what state u live in and i'll look up stuff for u if u want @frap also a lot of it isnt online and is done by recommendation. You have to visit a family doctor or a low income office (if money is the issue) and they'll have pamphlets or someone to talk to about your options. Non profit organizations don't usually make websites since they don't get paid, web domains are expensive, and they only want ppl who really need it using their services

  2. Awesome job mom. Happy mother's day.

  3. Wednesday. Remember you asked her in forums why she had you blocked a few days ago? She said you probably said something that pissed her off and you said fair enough. I forget which thread.

  4. Thank you for posting them :)

  5. I don’t know anything about that. I have almost no memory retention so, probably.

  6. Thank you for posting these numbers and offering to be there for people that need it OP.?

  7. From the Estrogen thread.

  8. Some people may not benefit from calling. It's an option. Yes, it can 100% for sure help someone. Yes, some people want to do it privately. But others, they do it in front of you. I can tell you personally that it is a horrible feeling to live and have seen someone do this and it wasn't an immediatee pass. But was no stopping it. And they regretted it. It's absolutely horrible. This happens everyday. And the OP is in fact helping by making this. Because if one person calls and is talked down then it's 100% worth it.

  9. If somebody wants to end their life why is it up to you to stop them?.. Why prevent what they want?

  10. Bad post. No support.

  11. From what I have seen, and this doesn't go for every single person on Earth, but no one truly wants to die like someone stated earlier. (Sorry for not quoting) Their emotions are so overwhelming of aloneness, panic. Another really close person tried it, and I found them just in time to live even though they weren't responsive. That's been about 7-8 yrs ago and now he has three more beautiful children, money, a home, stability, vacations a life where he is happy. (That's just his happy, everyones dreams are different.) Not everyone is capable of being saved. But it's worth putting the effort forth.

  13. I used to volunteer at crisis center suicide line at they do not precent suicides at all. In fact, the name is super misleading.

They are an INCREDIBLE asset to lonely people. Kids being bullied, etc. They do not prevent suicides because nobody trying to kill themselves calls. It’s people with mental disorders and they call over and over again. You actually only can allow people 1 call per shit and you have to HANG UP on them. It’s heartbreaking.

You aren’t allowed to give advice, they have to say it on their own. People who repeat the same line over and over because of a mental disorder like people with schizophrenic cannot come to a solution on their own.

It’s a great “need somebody to talk to” tool but it never saves any lives.

You air chair psychologists think you know what is best for suicidal people are so wrong. You mean well but it’s this same ignorance that causes suicide in the first place. It’s an ignorance to the root cause. A few people make threads, tweets, facebook posts like this and everybody comments to feel good about themselves and boom thats it, wrap it up.

I wish a single one of you who are oh so positive would do one goddamn thing to actually help in the real world. You could, you’d just rather pretend that the only power you are capable of is doing meaningless things on the internet like this thread. You are lazy and you don’t care. Bless your heart if it’s ignorance but if it’s not and you KNOW it’s not, then you are the cause. Most of you don’t give a rats ass

  14. This. Amen.

  15. I Agree because if you really cared and wanted to make a change you would go out and volunteer and work with campaign groups to improve and help others.

A thread on pimd isn’t gonna do much, copying suicide hotline numbers off google is just a way to make yourself feel like you’re doing good and helping others.

I honestly think a suicide discussion thread to raise awareness and share stories would of made a bigger impact and would of been more helpful than this. When reading someone story about their husband it shows the ripple affect suicide has on family and the people around that person.

    That’s my 2 cents

  18. Some of all are some of the most pathetic people I've seen tbh. And to that no stat troll, idk where you live or if your story is true but where I'm from the hot lines actually help people ?
    Requesting lock.

  19. You never know if someone that may have clicked this thread needed that number or to reach out to someone at that moment to get help or not. I’m sure it didn’t hurt anything regardless of what you think could help more... I really dislike the “this would help more but, I’m not doing anything to help right this second either, still I am going to critique your attempt to help... attitude.” Way to be a slactivist to the 2nd degree. Really? Don’t stop trying to help people because of some of the poor attitudes here OP. I know your heart was in the right place.

  20. OP Requested lock
