THE DISCUSSIONS | Chapter 1 (intro: can skip) Okay, so dab on the haters. But I've been wanting to make a discussion thread to find all my fellow bored af people that would like to talk about random "deep" and unimportant things in game. To share thoughts and feelings on topics that tickle our mind. And especially to just have a thread to come back to everytime there is no one who'll talk in pm. Since there might be similar threads feel free to link, I know that there are better threads like this outside of pimd, but i want to spread the cancer to pimd too oke?. Also I'm thinking of making this a chapter by chapter series if this first chapter does well, each chapter has different main topics I hope we can enjoy a different kind of wind. Chapter 1 Advanced Civilization So there has been alot of fuss in the internet pertaining to found evidences of advanced civilizations that our modern civilization could not comprehend. Like ancient tools that we can't understand the uses for, to secret forging techniques that has been lost through time and can't be replicated even with our current technology. This also raises the existence of Atlantis as one of the advance civilizations that may or may not have been much more advance than we are. And the Egyptians' connections to aliens or something. As an note the word advace may not mean only advancement in industrilization or the usage of electricity or medicine but as a definition of advance we can be broader and include being advance in alchemy or black magic, or the advance usage of the body or of the mind and connecting to other dimensions ot advance usage of life or water. Humans have made great advancement on industrilization for only 2000 years, but we've been existing for far longer than that. Do you think civilizations more advanced than us ever existed?
Eh, I doubt it. If there was wouldn't the natural resources we use today have been completely gone leaving us with nothing. Im pretty sure these civilizations woulda used up da coal and stuff. Hell, if there was then what happened to them? Did they die if they died then they probably weren't as advanced as we think they are you'd think some advanced civilization would be able to survive anything thrown their way fam. Like crap an asteroid is gon hit da earth let us use our black magic to stop dat crap but noooo. Unless ofc they decided they were too cool for earth and spaceshipped or teleported the fok outta da earth taking everything and leaving da rest of us to rot on dis rock. Who knows fam I'm leaning towards a no though
When you look at the things from a higher perspective actually Human kind is not a big civilization as we are only on one planet and so far the only source of energy we have been able to harness on a large scale is from dead living organisms while there's a large amount of energy readily available for the use.Currently it seems impossible to do various things for example being able to colonialise a planet far away at the end of galaxy will take too much time as it will require a lot of time for just a one way trip.So like to be a great civilization we need to colonialise other planets and become an inter galactic civilization but that will need us to learn various things for example opening and maintaining black holes and worm holes at will for communication over the space that according to our current scientific theories is only possible if we harness negative energy and anti matter. So every thing is possible if we are a far advance civilization in the future but if the civilizations in the past were much more advanced than us they would have survived somewhere in the universe and would have tried to communicate with us.Hence maybe there were a few civilizations more advanced than us but on the grand scale of things it is not so because millions of years on the grand scale of things is nothing either.
Yes, civilizations of the past were much farther advanced than us. Modern technology has made people stupid. It is commonly agreed that we are 4 meals away from anarchy. Meaning, if something were to happen to disrupt food distribution we'd have mass riots in under 36 hours. Doesn't sound very advanced to me. Your ancestors had to store food to last months at a time. They would be laughing at us now. They didn't have cell phones or computers, but they knew how to stay alive! We've got a terrible priority problem nowadays. By furthering technology we are losing our humanity.
I think that the answer to this question heavily relies on our definition of advancements. Some cultures had more sustainable practices than modern-day us and can still provide us with wisdom and methods to improve our own practice. Some ancient cultures, as you briefly mention, may have developed certain technologies which we still don't have post-industrialization. I think the research is pretty conclusive, and can prove that there were no industrialized civilizations before ours as there's little or no proof of metallurgy. I think it may be possible that a few million years ago there may have been a succeasful intelligence on earth, but one as "successful" as us would sadly have had a massive impact on the archaeological record. Also we're only talking about earth here. Perhaps across the universe, in all of its timeline there have been multiple great civilizations. I would tend to doubt that. I don't know if it's due to religious deduction or what, but I do have a strong feeling that we're the first, and also if the civilization rose and fell in space but nobody will ever notice the effects of it, or any trace of proof of it, does it even matter?
As I read majority of you says no and slightly likely to the existence of a more advance civilization. I agree though that our own modern society is far from what an advance civilization is as there are different tiers of ranking a civilization. and we are only at level 1-2. And it is true that to see what really is advanced we have to see which specific aspect we are reffering to. But what if, this is far fetched, we humans are actually a biological creation of those advance civilization (atlantis people?) and that the advanced civilizations before is not a creature limitted to being 3d but is a higher dimentional creature like a 4d creature, which transcends time. which may have a physical body much more primitive body which holds limitted life. Also I find it hard to understand the existence of "artifacts" that we humans can't understand like jars that has no oppening possibly used as a battery and so on.
but there are animals, bugs, that live a 2 dimentional life, tho we can only observe them at q different stand point. so aren't 4 dimensional ones possible as well?
You dont need to burn up fuels to be advanced Nations before us were a lot stronger physically and way more intelligent and advanced. That still won’t stop death from coming to you though
What bugs are 2-dimensional? tf Everything in the universe has a width. Every electron has a width, thus every atom has width, and every molecule, and every cell, has a 3rd dimension to it. The thing about the universe is that every dimension exists in it simultaneously, and everything in it exists in all dimensions. The zeroeth dimension is a point of no width. A point of no width is not real, but a mental representation and mathematical concept. The first is a line of no width or thickness, only length. Again. Doesn't exist, a mental conceptualization. The second is a "plane" length and width. 2 directions. Up and across. Nothing is 2-dimensional because nothing in the universe exists only in 2 dimensions. Everything has a width. The third dimension introduces depth. Everything in the universe also has a depth. Nothing only exists in 3 dimensions. The fourth dimension sort of has 2 conceptions. There's the mathematical one in geometry, and then there's the more practical one (time). Which demonstrates that all things exist for a certain amount of time. Nothing exists for only an instant (imagine the zeroeth dimensions. A single point, but of time) This isn't a full description of the universe either. It starts to become harder to understand higher dimensions but the 5th is basically alternative timelines and realities. Idk how to explain them, but you can just google it.
what i mean is, some bugs observe things in a 2 dimensional setting, they got weird eyes that dont reflect light and cant see the distance or they got weird senses that isnt as complex as our sense or they got weird brains so they can't process the same world as what we observe and see. Yes, it may be a mathematical concept but what we observe is something that is true to us as human beings that can see 2d,and touch 3d. And with a solid basis we can then theorize that a dimension more or less sophisticated than ours must exist
