Say foot out loud. I put a "t" instead of an "f" when I say tut. So it's not like "toot" when you're saying "moo", but more like "foot" lol
Doesn't have to exactly be the same as the first syllable of the word itself. I pronounce tutors as chootors (toots for short, not choots). So I pronounce pupil as pyupil (poop for short, not pyup)
Wasn't your whole argument around the pronounciation of the first syllable though? So then.... pyup, because you dont say poop'll, but pyup'll
Tutors = chootors = tootors If I follow what you think I said, it would sound as choots and not toots, which was why I used tootors and not chootors. I was referring to the vowel sound. My bad though, I failed to clarify that part. So, in pupil, like in tutors, I changed it a bit so it would sound nice, but this time, I changed the vowel sound, not the consonant of the first syllable. Hence, poop, not pyup/pyoop
