As we all know ww3 is about to start. Terrorists from Syria are using Coran to justify the acts they do. Why do people still believe in religion and in invisible people?
Because without religion human wouldn't advance this far, they would just kill each other like all animal do, religion teach what is good and bad, and it become the belief of society. What if religion didn't exist in the first place? You might eat your sibling when you hungry cuz that is an OK. War is always there… whether it for religion purpose or invation for material sources, just don't generalise everything bad happen because of religion
Religion doesn't teach morals. I'm an atheist and I assure you I can be a perfectly good person without your invisible judgmental prick of a nonexistent god.
mm but the question is where did our moral code come from? and how do you define good? and is religion really so bad? its probably not accurate to judge the religion based on the actions of the people who "follow" that religion, its usually better to first analyse the underlying principles and foundations of said religion a lot of religions teach peace and love at the core of it all
Actually a lot of religions teach hatred, sexism, racism, bigotry, and encourage to murder and/or shun those that don't follow. I can't say I believe in good or evil because I don't, in fact if it was up to me we'd all drop these petty notions of right and wrong and live freely without some judgmental invisible sovereign ruling over us. It's pretty pathetic actually that people apologize to something with no evidence to absolve their sins. Then again, they wouldn't have to do that unless they felt guilt to start with. Which, despite your religion telling you there is a moral code to live by originated from its text, if we all lived by the moral codes of the Bible, or any other religious book, most of us would stoning women for premarital sex, equality would be nonexistent, freedom of speech wouldn't even come into play, and oh...right, countries with religious law over secular law already do that: Your moral code is one crappy one if I do say so myself. Oh by the way, I treat everybody equally. Not because I have to or some god told me to, because believe me god doesn't give a crap about anyone or 9 million starving children wouldn't exist. Frankly, if god does exist he's a sociopath who kills people in horrible ways for the pure joy of watching. Science brought you cures, knowledge, vaccines, surgery, medicines and all these other things that help you live longer because your God decided we all needed to get sick and die eventually. And that's exactly what we did until somebody stopped praying and actually did something. Anyways, I'm out
How u define good and bad? The definition of good and bad is constructed from people who has religion, is stealing bad? If god doesn't teach us stealing is bad, people won't have a construction in their mind that stealing is bad. If you think that human exist from evolution they should behave like an animal do… means you can't define what is good and bad. You can say what is good and bad now because the social definition of what's good and bad, and social definition of what's good and bad is constructed from people who has religion. Because religion has spread throught the world…
I can't explain to you how dumb that comment is. Religion spread because of some dudes writing some outdated laws inside a book from thousands of years ago when people still didn't know where the sun went at night. Morality was based out of having order and control. Evolution is also adaptation, we adapted from using primal instincts to rational thought. People used to think multiples gods created things because they had no other reason to believe in their existence. Then came science. People thought it was ridiculous because gasp! How could people believe in such Mumbo jumbo like MULTIPLE invisible beings ruling over us? Nah one invisible powerless being seems much more believable. If I wanted to kill someone, I still could. God isn't going to stop me I don't act right because of him. I just believe in human decency. Hard thought without religion right? It's because you're small minded and need something to tell you how to act.
I see your logic… I know it hard for you to believe in something that you can't see. That because we human haven't got any power to see it yet. Just like back then in 700 BC, people understand they need air to breath but they can't see the air that make them breath, but now you can see the "air" (o2) using some tool. "Morality come in order and control" that's correct… if you study history you'll see how religion spread the morality throught the world. How slavery ended, is also the result of religion teaching. How budist and hindu spread in india, africa, japan, How christianity spread in U.S till Australia and islam spread in Asian & almost all Europe continent, they bring morality and morality come in order of religion teaching. I want to ask you this question, please think it carefully…If you believe in adaptation and evolution, when ape evolved into human being, how elephant, birds, snake, doesn't evolve into something? why only human? double standard eh? I dont believe in evolution, cuz it just a theory not the fact…
