  1. America making Donald Trump president?

  2. Amen

  3. I blamed India by not blaming them?what does that even mean?

  4. Yeah, if USA hadn't dropped the bomb someone else would of dropped it. Back then nobody knew what the bomb was capable of ? so thanks to the USA no one dares to drop any.

  5. Idk, we are going to have to wait and see if voting for trump was good or bad until he actually becomes president.

  6. by Kenny Hemphill via web

"Just because someone's invented something, it doesn't mean that they're happy with the end result.
It's J. Robert Oppenheimer who, as director of the Los Alamos Laboratory during World War II, is credited with the creation of the atomic bomb. But Albert Einstein's work made it possible.

Despite past associations with left wing organizations, Oppenheimer welcomed the opportunity to play a part in the war effort. Later, however, he had mixed feelings about the bomb. "I have no remorse about the making of the bomb… As for how we used it, I understand why it happened and appreciate with what nobility those men with whom I'd worked made their decision. But I do not have the feeling that it was done right. The ultimatum to Japan [the Potsdam Proclamation demanding Japan's surrender] was full of pious platitudes. ...our government should have acted with more foresight and clarity in telling the world and Japan what the bomb meant," he said.

Einstein was less equivocal. Years later he regretted having signed a letter to President Roosevelt urging him to support the research of physicists into nuclear chain reactions and their use as a weapon, because he believed the Germans were already working on it. "Had I known that the Germans would not succeed in producing an atomic bomb," he said, "I would have never lifted a finger."

  7. I think if nukes had never been developed then there'd be way more wars.

  8. Look at the other battles on the pacific islands. Nobody wanted that. Japan was being an idiot and we didn't want to keep fighting them. I don't think we should've dropped it on a civilian city straight away but it happened and the war ended.

  9. Can't think of anything the bad the US has done, your kidding right?! Wow. That's just shocking.

  10. The now white Americans as good as completely wiped out the actual Americans just for starters. Many of the worst conflicts around the world right now are because of Americas foreign policies over the years. This causing hundreds of thousands of deaths, next generation terrorists and complete anarchy the middle east.

  11. I've learnt more about modern history and war from this thread than I have in a year worth of studying it lol

  12. Wasn't Japan being a idiot, was Imperial Japan Army, specifically Tojo..
My grandmother lived in Koyagi all her life , southern edge of Nagasaki, and she hated the war, hated Tojo with a passion.. She and my aunts almost starve to death .. After war end, she was relieved when US soldiers brought butter , powdered milk food ...I used to ask all kinds of questions when I was kid, I never heard her say anything but good things about USA, she loved MacArthur especially
....she blamed Tojo, not the US, for the bombs dropping..
Was just terribly unfortunate the civilians suffered ...

  13. Yes blame tojo not USA

  14. Conspiracy Theories right there

  15. I blame Dick Cheney
    He created Isis
    (Indirectly)

  16. I was more or less referring to the armed forces. I can't imagine that the Japanese civilians with war on their front door wanted much to do with it at that point.

  17. So you even will admit that your own family believed it was more on a part of Japan, why is that? Because they where radical in their fighting, and the only thing that stopped them was a horrible shock. They almost starved after the war, but what if instead of those bombs being dropped, America fought the usual way with Japan. Would your family have gotten the same kindness from that soldier? Probably not. Had the war never had been started, that'd be great. But it was a shock to those in power that stopped the war, nothing short of ten times those losses would've caused a normal defeat. The bombs saved many soldiers, American and Japanese, their lives. Many innocents died to it, and that's sad, but the war could've been much worse, and I'm happy for both our countries that it wasn't. Nowadays those tragedies cannot happen due to fear of retaliation, every country knows that the bombs are too dangerous. Had we not discovered it and used it, maybe someone else would've long in the future, and the losses could've been much higher. Like if the bombs had been dropped in highly populated capitals of any country, can you imagine how awful that would've been?
One of the best friends I ever had is trying to get in the military now, and now that we don't have anything to shock another country with, I pray to every god, deity and flying damn pasta monster if I have too for his life if I ever see"the United States has declared war on Japan" because with how dedicated the soldiers in Japan have been in the past, I'd fear for him. The world was a much safer place before the bombs, not because we have them now, but because we can't stop the horrors that can happen during war.

  18. You're still a Complete Idiot

  19. Jesus Christ this is still going on. I thought it would be over

  20. Everyone's like... whatI love this
