Helpful Players and Clubs

  1. Hello people,

An old habit of mine used to be helping new players start off, grow, get used to the game and hopefully become good players.

Are there any more clubs that do that anymore? These clubs essentially do not care about the stats of who comes in but works for helping new players out.
Personally, I'd like to help new players start off again and send them to some of these sorts of clubs.

If too few of these exist, would it be worth making one and if one were made, who would want to participate?

I used to find fun in helping people out, and it is pretty fun.
Would be sad if this thread dies. I know forums is not all bad people who are wanna be trolls, so I hope to get some good people on here ? Happy gaming guys

  2. I would love to help but I'm barely active as it is lol. Once I start my internship, I don't even know if I'll still get on every so often. This is a great idea though. Few clubs do exist and they kinda fail because there's a higher influx of newbs than there are bigger stat players who want to help

  3. Yeah, personally I am on a grad school program that requires a lot of time so even if I created such a club I would want 10 or 12 admins.

  4. (I would create and own club with a different account, but still just the same impact)

  5. I wish you the best of luck then. I think what happens most of the time is the bigger stat players start missing out on hunts because noobs can't hit pros and they stop upgrading themselves and yeah. It falls apart and it just sucks. And then people don't realize that when you own a club, you'll most likely need to invest some money in it to keep players from leaving all the time, and not many people are up for that commitment

  6. Well, I don't care so much about hunts so much, so that won't be a problem for me.

And I won't spend money into the club, that's not what the game is all about. So I can see the struggles that would be encountered.

  7. Sometimes I do help out newbie to 1b ..

  8. I agree. I didn't wanna spend money on my club either when I owned one like two years ago  luckily I had connections and people that were willing to drop without me asking for them to do so. Maybe you can find another way to make them stay. Try to find people at all time zones. An active cc helps, trust me. Either way, best of luck

  9. That's ... something.

  10. Yeah, that's the toughest part keeping CC active. Hard to recruit people of different time zones. The few times I have created clubs that the hardest part and most people who enter a club expect club chat to be talkative yet don't talk themselves.

  11. Right? There was always that one player who'd leave and you would've forgotten that they were there because they never spoke, but they'd be like "it's dead in here bye."  it helps if you just start the convos yourself all the time to get the noobs talking to each other, and then eventually they'll get comfortable enough to talk to each other whether you're there or not. But I think active cc is key. Even today, I won't stay in a club if their cc has been dead for like 5 hours  it's weird.

  12. Hmmm ... good point. I think people need to have less expectations.

People expect a party to be consistently be going on, but fail to realize that less people online means unable to finish party.
Then they complain that parties are not finished

  13. True. Just ignore them and do what's best for your club. Either way people will complain.

  14. I've done this a time or two...

  15. I help out players by telling them you need to pay for it if you want it ;)
It's not very helpful but it is effective

  16. That's ... effective indeed.
I'm going for a "you work for it" approach lol
    Though thats only half realistic.

  17. Think its a good idea but as said the biggest problem with the smaller clubs is not having enough active members or not having bigger players help in completing parties... even bigger clubs have a hard time completing some parties

  18. That's true, I would not do Pro parties until everyone was confident in being able to. I understand. I'd teach them ways about how to gain money other than parties too.

And when it comes for my preferences in terms of admins, hopefully they have sufficient game knowledge.
And now I'm not bothered by persons roleplaying anymore unless it's content against the ToU so it's as long as people are knowledgeable and playing responsibly.

So far it doesn't look much like anyone is really offering (future) assistance but you are all bringing up very good points in terms of what an owner and club would struggle with.

So perhaps a good strategy would be to help people out over time and call in a favor with them after a while 

  19. We have 1 future admin  awesome.

Also, Alts are accepted as long as they are active and as long as you are willing to help out.
