chocolate fudge cake recipe

  1. 2 2/3 cup of all purpose flour
    3/4 cup + 1tbs granulated sugar
    1/3 light brown sugar
    1/4 cup cocoa powder
    2ts of baking powder
    1ts of baking soda
    3 eggs
    1/2 cup + 2tbs sour cream
    1tbs vanilla extract
    3/2 cup of unsalted butter, melted and cooled
    1/2 cup of corn oil
    1 1/3 cup of chilled water

    INGREDIENTS

    For the Cake:

    Self-Raising Flour (6 oz)
    Dr. Oetker Fine Dark Cocoa Powder x25g (2 tbsp)
    Dr. Oetker Bicarbonate of Soda Sachet 150g
    Caster Sugar (5 oz) 30ml
    Golden Syrup (2 tbsp)
    Medium Eggs x 2 Beaten 150ml
    Sunflower Oil (5 oz) 150ml
    Milk (¼ pint)

    For the Icing:

    Unsalted Butter (3 oz)
    Icing Sugar (6 oz)
    Dr. Oetker Fine Dark Cocoa Powder x45g (3 tbsp)
    Milk or warm water (2 tbsp)


    PREPARATIONS

    1. Pre-heat oven to 180ºC/350ºF/Gas Mark 4. Grease and line two 18cm (7 inch) sandwich tins.

    2. Sieve the flour, Fine Dark Cocoa Powder and Bicarbonate of Soda into a bowl.

    3. Add the sugar and mix well. Make a well in the centre and add the syrup, eggs, oil and milk. Beat well until smooth.

    4. Spoon the mixture into the two tins and bake for 25 - 30 minutes until risen and firm to the touch. Remove from oven, leave to cool before turning out onto a cooling rack.

    5. Sandwich the two cakes together with butter cream icing. To make the icing place the butter in a bowl and beat until soft.

    6. Gradually sift and beat in the icing sugar and then add enough milk / water to make the icing fluffy and spreadable. Sift and beat the Fine Dark Cocoa Powder in to the icing.

    7. Cover the sides and the top of the cake with more butter icing and use a palette knife to create swirls on top of the cake and to decorate.

    Mine is the best! It's really easy and look wonderful 

    1 (18.25 ounce) package chocolate cake mix
    1/4 cup butter
    2 cups white sugar
    6 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
    1 cup heavy whipping cream
    1 tablespoon vanilla extract
    1/4 cup chopped walnuts

    Directions
    1. Bake a box chocolate cake as directed. While hot from the oven, poke holes over entire cake with a fork. While the cake is cooking prepare the fudge sauce.
    2. For the fudge sauce: In a saucepan, combine butter, sugar, cocoa and cream. Stir over medium heat until a full boil starts. Cook at a full boil for 2 minutes. Stir in vanilla. Pour while hot over warm cake. Sprinkle with chopped walnuts. Serve alone or with ice-cream.
