Weird World Who doesn't like to learn about our weird world and what you may find. For todays Weird World we get to learn about an island take over by furry hoppers. Bunny Island Usagi Jima (better known as Bunny Island) is an island in Miyagi, Japan, situated between Makino-saki and Ōdomari. Bunny Island is inhabited by 700+ bunnies. All the cuteness overload and fun loving you can handle. Why not go for many rather than a few. The bunnies are for the most part overpopulated because they do not have many animals that prey upon them. Many are still unsure to this day how this islands became taken over by generations of bunnies you see today. Theories has been made to try and explain this. From a couple on a trip, school children, or scientists. Breakdown Of Theories Theory #1 This island is also known for its tourism for history. It is believed that a couple or tourists on a trip had released bunnies. Theory #2 The hundreds of rabbits found on the island today are thought to be descendants of eight rabbits released by schoolchildren in 1971. Theory #3 Ōkunoshima is known for its history as the site of Japan's secret chemical weapons production during World War II. The island factory produced produced more than six kilotons of five poison gases, used in roughly 2,000 separate attacks on the Chinese from 1937–1945, causing more than 80,000 casualties. Rabbits used in testing were supposedly euthanized when the factory shut down after the war. Below is a picture of the a two-room poison gas laboratory on the island which has been converted into a museum in 1988. I hope you all enjoy this thread. I'm not sure but idt you should. When you're even on tour of the grounds they want ppl to stick to paths only. The grounds are still polluted in areas because of a poisonous gas that was tested.
