Chapter 1 The gates opened to the University. Hannah smiled at the new environment. She was now in college. She smiled at all the kids, she was looking for a friend, maybe someone that was like her. A perky brunette with freckles and deep dimples that lingered to her face like bumblebees on honey. Her father looked very disappointed but her mother was as excited as Hannah was. Her mother took a look at her father and frowned. "Oh, Daniel, stop that look, you got your dream didn't you? Our daughter got into a good college. Now she can support herself. " Hannah's dad turned to her mom and frowned. "Yes, but only half of it has. PIMD is 6 hours from where we live." "It was her choice Daniel. You have to respect her wishes." "I guess so, but I just say this Hannah, I am very proud of you. You didn't turn out like your sister, Meline," Meline was Hannah's older sister. Meline died 3 years ago from a gang where she assisted in. She was shot and killed just in front of her school. Hannah wanted to be better and not end up like Meline. "Thanks dad ," Hannah said with a sweet smile. Her dad pulled in a small building where her dorm room was. Her dad parked and got out the car to help Hannah with her things. As they walked up the stairs with all her bags, she looked around. "Hmmm, I need to find room 277," Hannah replied. "I'm sure we will find it, we are in the second floor," her mother said Hannah walked down the hall and saw the exact number she was looking for. "Hey, mom and dad, this it right here." We said before entering the room. She set her things in the corner of the room. She could see the bed on the left side of hers was already decorated and magazine pages were hanging from the walls. "That's kinda odd, instead if hanging magazines on the wall, why didn't she tear the pages out and hang them?" "Maybe that's how she likes it too be honey," her mom replied setting her bags down by the empty plain bed on the right side. "Hi , I'm Connie, you must be Hannah," Hannah turned around and saw a very plump girl with black short hair that was pulled back in a ponytail. She looked as if she had in to much makeup and way to much perfume. "Oh, hello, yeah I'm Hannah, nice to meet you Connie." "Well, we're gonna see you upon Thanksgiving," said her dad, outstretching his arms for a hug. Hannah smiled and gave her dad a hug and a peck on his cheek. She gave her mom a slightly more longer hug and waved goodbye before she saw her mom and dad walk out the door. She didn't think she could do this. Maybe she should have listened to her dad, maybe she should have went to school only a couple miles from their home. Now it was to late
