I've always seen myself a "hard worker" because it's always been my baser understanding that if you work hard enough you'll be successful and eventually you'll be happy in that success. But to be quite frank, hard work is really such a bore. I always find myself working really hard at things that are awful. So I started thinking..... Oh my god, what if in the grand scheme of things this is all there is? You just slave away your days doing some ludicrous "job" that feel obligated to have to pay off a plethora of loans for numerous items you can hardly keep track of anymore. The really sad thing is, that if you decide to break away from the monotony and follow your dream? There's a 90% chance you end up broke. Unless you dream is to be something serious. Like a neurosurgeon, or even a mail-man. And I think really the worst thing anyone can be while alive is poor. Character and kindness is quite a good thing to have, but money is even better. So really what it comes down to is sheer luck and determination to make what you want to happen happen. Or pray that someday you or your child will be a practical little curmudgeon who loves sensible affairs and decides to be an accountant. ~ Just some thoughts ~
Its better to be in a job then searching for one. Its so hard to find one these days. So be grateful ur in a job and not out on the streets alone looking for one ?
I think having a balance of both is ideal. To know hard work and to reap what you sow basically. I find it feels so much better to get something after you've worked for it rather than have it given to you. Also, it's important to play things smart. A lot of hardworking people have lost everything because they didn't know how to plan things out. So yeah. I think you're on the right track when you're always learning something.
People work hard I'm there youth to have a better future. Its just an endless cycle tbh. Get rich, have kids, die, kids get rich, they have kids, they die and they're bankrupt. I'd rather live poor and work hard than be rich and not work much at all.
Life isnt meant to be easy its supposed to be a challenge. If it was easy itd be as boring as watching paint dry
Personally I believe it's good to have challenges but make sure you enjoy them. I mean if you don't enjoy your life what exactly are you living it for then? Also in retrospect to op's comments on how there's a 90% chance you'll fail and end up poor doing what you love, studies have shown that money doesn't actually correlate with happiness Poorer people, working hard and doing what they love, enjoy life immensely more then those who are stinking rich and doing a mundane job. The same can be said about lottery winners, at first there is a small rise in happiness but before the year is up the happiness levels of the winners go right back to where they were before winning the lottery interestedly enough ️
Re: I want an easy life and I'm not afraid to say it" I think there's a fine line between a "challenge" and self-torture that many people walk daily. But tbh, I wouldn't find being a rich heiress boring. The people who get bored with their money are those who have no idea how to spend it properly. And moreover are like deeply dissatisfied with themselves deep down.
You'd rather work hard and be poor than be rich for nothing. You're so blue collar. Average working class citizen not caring about status content with just knowing he's working his hardest and making ends meet. You could be a mail man.
You sound like you're insulting blue collar workers. Those are tough jobs and someone has to do them. He probably means that he values being able to be useful over easy money. Being a mailman isn't negative in itself but it's the way you said it.
