I used to call it football but when I moved to Canada their football is a different sport so now I call it a soccer ball.

I'm not sure where they're from but as a British response, the average person here doesn't call anything soccer

Though most other countries I believe call it Football or possibly even rugby depending.

 

Well it's football for most then soccer for some but half the people that would normally call it soccer call it football aswell because they think they're so special it means the same thing calm yourself

Well me being an american I call it soccer because football is a whole different sport (go patriots) but depending on who I'm talking to I'll call it football to ease the tension and to not seem as ignorant to other peoples culture.
