Alice. That's her name. Mysterious, Fiesty, Alice. She was the one that started it all. She was the one who made me realize what I need in life. It was her. It had always been her since that day.

I was going to the annual steak night that my local Cafe had. Yes, quite strange for a Cafe to have steak, but it did. It was the best steak I think I've ever even had in my entire life. The Cafe was run by a neighbor of mine, Rachel. As I entered the Cafe, I noticed a strange woman sitting in the farthest booth from the front door. I've never seen her here before, she must've been out of town, I thought to myself. I ordered my regular, Well-done steak with a side of Buttered potatoes and one sweet fresh bread roll.
I looked at the booth that I always sat it, but still, it was occupied by the strange woman. Then I suddenly realized what the woman was doing. Underneath the table I could see that her hands were moving. I've been one of the most loyal customers to Rachels Cafe, what this woman was doing was an outrage. So I walked up to her. Of course she didn't notice me at first, but I got her attention soon after.
I tapped the woman's shoulder, her head was down, so she couldn't have seen me coming anyways. She jumped from my surprise touch and looked up at me with the most confused face she could probably muster. I believe she said something but I wasn't listening, I was so lost in those big deep brown eyes of hers.
Her snapping fingers in front of my face made my trance short-lived.
"What do you want?" She said with a look of annoyance on her face now.
"I-I uhm.." I cleared my throat.
"I wanted to say that you have to leave. What you're doing is inappropriate. Either you leave or I report this to Rachel, and she'll call the cops." I stood with confidence as my words rolled off of my tongue.
The woman looked at me strangely, as if I had spoken a different language to her. I was going to say it again until...
"Oh! You mean... This?" She fumbled with something under the table, I couldn't see due to the way I was facing. She pulled out what looked like a white ball of fluff, I looked closer and noticed two pink eyes sitting atop of it and then out came the long ears.
"A bunny?!" I exasperated. "I thought you were..." I shifted from foot to foot uncomfortably.
"Oh, What? Never! Not in a public place like this, of course." she laughed and I noticed the sides of her eyes crinkled when she did. Even though I had nothing else to say to her, I couldn't help but stay and look at her. I don't know what it is about this girl, but I needed to know more.
"Hey, I'm sorry about that, really, I guess my mind was somewhere else at the moment, but uhm... If you'd ever want to chat or anything, just.. Call me? Or you could come over, I'll text you the address." I said the words as quickly as possible without trying to stutter, I didn't want to make a complete idiot out of myself again.
"Haha, hm..." she stared at me long and hard and then said,
"I guess, yeah,... Sure, it'd be fun" she took out a piece of scrap paper from her bag and wrote down her number then handed it to me.
My hands were shaking like an earthquake was happening inside of my own body, so bad, that when I went to grab it, it fell from my grasp and dropped to the ground. I leaned down to pick it up then popped right back up to find the woman gone. I looked at her number and above it was the name "Alice".
Her name is Alice, I concluded in my head.
"Rosey! Your food has been ready for about 10 minutes now!" I heard Rachel yell from behind the ordering counter.
No matter how much I ate, the only appetite I needed to fulfill was the thought of Alice...
