I have witnessed a friend who inspired me to be a better person. One morning we were at a local supermarket. We were 2nd in line to the cashier and the lady infront of us had a cart full of groceries and a little girl who seemed to be around the age of 2. When the cashier rang up her total of $179.59 for all her groceries, she started looking for her wallet in panic mode in her purse ( knowing she's holding up a long line). A few minutes later we hear her apologizing to the cashier that she forgot her wallet at home. My friend without any second thoughts jumped in and said its ok and handed $200 to the cashier and told the lady 'its ok'. The lady kept refusing and said 'no. I can't accept it. My bill is to much and I don't even know you.' But my friend just kept insisting to the cashier to use her money to cover for the expenses. I felt so moved by such a generous act. All my friend said to me as we walked out was 'money is paper and coins. Thats all it is. Its made to come and go and when I die I cant take it with me. So I don't see the point of holding on to money so dearly'.
