Your birthday isn't an important holiday. :roll: The day you are born is important but not a holiday. It's not globally or nationally important that you were born. Cinco De Mayo is important because it is a day people celebrate the dead. Instead of mourning over the lost they celebrate as if they were never gone. I don't understand how you can be so upset that your husband doesn't consider your birthday a "holiday". If he forgets sure be upset but it's not a holiday.

 

5 de Mayo is La Batalla de Puebla where they celebrate the Mexican forces' victory over the French in Puebla, Mexico...

Really? I know in Orleans and stuff they celebrate the dead. Throwing huge parades and what not. I always knew that as Cinco De Mayo. Then again holidays we have in America sometimes differ from the actual holiday.

 

Yeah thats Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead.. Oct 31 or Nov 1st or sumtn I forgot lol... Im Mexican but dont celebrate it so I'm not sure but yeah May 5th is not celebrated in Mexico but for some reason its a "big deal" here. People confuse Cinco de Mayo with Mexico's Independence Day a lot as well lol.

 

Will the banks be open on your birthday? Or should we plan accordingly since your birthday is a holiday & all now..
