Can we please please talk about the new Spongebob Movie.... Because oh my god it's a lot to swallow. (That's what she said) For those of you poor souls who have yet to see it, here's a little premise: Plankton attempts to steal the Krabby Patty formula (as always) and almost succeeds until *poof* it disappears. The entire movie is basically the gang attempting to get it back in their own miscellaneous ways. The actual movie itself in its entirety is so strange. So odd. So... I'm honestly at a loss of words for describing this movie.... BIZARRE. I'm not sure if it's utter nonsense or a comical masterpiece it's lowest form. **Spoilers Ahead** I appreciate the movie for what it is, a giant acid trip, The time traveling music is indicative of being high off one's face. I'm not a drug fanatic, but I'm currently tempted to try anything maybe everything. The illuminati dolphin.... The rap battle... The beginning was adorable. My biggest complaint is that they spent far too much time underwater for a movie called "Sponge Out of Water" I loved seeing Plankton team up with Spongeboob. The candy land sequence in Spongebob's head killed me ? He really does have nothing going on up there. Squidward was as sarcastic and lazy as ever. Patrick was dumber than usual if that's even possible. It was oddly endearing. I appreciated Squidward's superhero name being "Sour Note" paying homage to bad clarinet skills. And the seagulls were darn adorable ** Spoilers Over** If you're planning on seeing it in 3D... Don't. It makes no difference. So.... thoughts and opinions ?
But the real question is, why would a bunch of 17 year old people go watch a movie specifically advertised for ages 5-10?

If I had a child, I would go with them, but I wouldn't be entertained. Spongebob is overrated anyways. And no, it isnt a problem. I should've worded it differently. Obviously, people with small children are going to go watch the movie too.
I went with my siblings. And I enjoyed it. Who says you can't enjoy something meant for kids? There's a kid in everyone's heart. ?
