This story is inspired by ‘Alice in Wonderland’ of Lewis Carroll. I really enjoyed the book; I was inspired so this suddenly popped out. Hahaha. I hope you will enjoy this the same way I enjoyed ‘Alice in Wonderland’. “I chased the rabbit… and now, I’m falling.” - Alicia Hearts ~~~ “Alicia…” a very familiar voice called out. I slowly opened my eyes. “Where am I? What is this place?” I asked myself as my eyes traveled around the place. “Alicia…” the voice called out once again. I turned my head on the big tree behind me and saw my mother resting her back on it. “Mom, I knew it!” I ran towards her and hugged her. “I miss you so much.” I said as my hug tightened. “I miss you too Alicia, so much.” She whispered as she started patting my head. “I wish we can stay like this forever… I wish you still can be with me.” I looked in her face then my tears started to trickle down. “I also wish that… but I can’t.” she looked away and stoop up with her back facing me. “I might be far away now but I will always be with you no matter what, remember that Alicia.” she said then she faced me again. “And also, promise me one thing.” she looked deep into my eyes, like she was trying to tell me that it was something serious. “Promise me… That you would never, ever chase the rabbit.” She said but before I could even reply a strong wind blew. I closed my eyes because of the wind and when I opened them again, she was gone. “Rabbit? Chase? I don’t get it.” I murmured in confusion. I was about to stand when my body felt numb then everything went black. Beep! Beep! Beep! I opened my eyes and sat quickly as if I was having a nightmare. “Mom…” I whispered while in a daze. I regained my wits when I realized that my alarm was still beeping. I pressed the dismiss button then looked at the time. “Oh, it’s just 8:30 I still have time to—WHAT?! 8:30?!” my eyes widened. I jumped out of bed and went to the bathroom to have a shower. ‘I am so late.’ I thought to myself. When I was done, I wore my uniform, got my bag, and went downstairs. “There you are Alicia, here have some breakfast.” my dad offered me while reading a newspaper. I quickly headed to the door and opened it. “Sorry, no time for breakfast. I’ll be going now. Bye Dad.” I gave him a smile and left. I ran as fast as I can but Dad said, my new school is a little far. Yes, actually this is the first day of our class and I’m just new in the school—even here in this place and the whole neighborhood. We just moved in last month. I was still running when I realized something… Oh no, I’m lost. “Where am I? What is this place?” I asked myself . I shouldn’t have taken that turn. Maybe there’s someone here who can help me with directions. My eyes were roaming the place when I saw something. “That tree… It’s very familiar…” I whispered as I slowly walked towards it. I was about to touch the tree when I heard a voice. “Of all days, why now? I am so late.” said the voice. I turned my head and saw a boy with a white hair running by the sidewalk. White hair? Now isn’t that odd. My eyes narrowed, I was observing him when he got a pocket watch out of his bag . I laughed when I saw the watch. I mean, who would even use such a thing nowadays? I was entertaining myself with the thought when I remembered that I was lost. Maybe he could help me, so I looked at him and realized that he was wearing a uniform from my school. My feet started to move; I ran and chased after him . “Hey! Excuse me!” I called out and from that moment, nothing will ever be the same again .
