  1. So, I am in high school and I have some difficult classes because I am in the International Baccalaureate Program (IB) and it's been getting stressful. I don't want to complain a whole lot about my personal life so I'll get straight to the point. I've always been an A student (with a high B in math since it's my weak subject) but this year has been HARD and I'm stressed. I have 2 B's 4 C's 1 D and an F. My GPA has dropped and it's freaking me out because I want to get accepted into a nice college (Florida State or University of South Florida) but at this rate it's not going to happen...

Do you guys have any pointers to help relax and calm myself?
Do you have any tips for Algebra 2 (class with an F)?
If you got accepted into college, can you please help me?

  2. Just calm down that's it. Don't pressure yourself la. (͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

  3. You should get off Pimd
    Go study more.?

  4. I deleted the app a few times and now I only check it when I'm not doing school work or right before I go to sleep (like now). School always comes before this app lol.

  5. Those are terrible schools, thats what you should stress about. FSU accepts anybody……

    Go to UF. Go Gators!

  6. Drop out of the IB program if the classes are to challenging?

  7. Or try your best to get the lower grades to at least a C and scrape by

  8. If I go to UF I would go because of their Forensic Science department thing. I heard both schools were hard to get into esp. cause Florida has the most IB students... So it makes it harder for the IB kids to be accepted.

  9. I have to wait till the end of this school year and by then my grades would be 

  10. Omg, I did ib when I was in high school. It sucks. Especially if you're an IB senior. You have to have a 3.0 unweighted to stay in the program, so they'll probably kick you out if you don't get your grades up. Being an ib senior, you have to take your test that will determine if you get the ib diploma. If you dont understand the material, Just quit. No point in sitting for hours taking super hard test that youre not prepared for. Only 6 people, myself included got an ib diploma in my senior class. But that was mostly because everyone else didnt complete their community service. Some schools don't give you credit for ib classes if you don't complete them, so you should probably check with your counsler.

  11. Well that certainly makes things difficult, my advice is to study study study you don't have to go overboard with the studying though, the classes you are struggling in sit down for 15 minutes and review the subject you guys covered for that day. You could break that down into intervals through the day after school and not feel so stressed about the studying. Repition will help you remember things, or atleast it does for me.Good luck!

  12. At my school about 10-15 people got the IB diploma last year out of like.. 40 kids.. I'm dropping out after this year so hopefully I'll be able to fix my GPA enough to get accepted into any semi-major school in Florida... ? I'm so freaking stressed man. ? Why does school have to be so hard?

  13. It's like the middle of the year probably WAY too late to drop.

But I feel your pain Claus. I took a shit ton of tough classes this year because I wanted to challenge myself and not be one those seniors that slacks off. But it's waaaaaay harder than I ever thought it'd be. First quarter I had three C's.

All I can say is remember that on your transcript schools generally look at your semester and final grades so work on bringing up you average for the year. Colleges like to see improvement and since you've had great grades the past 3 years they'll take that into account and assume you had a rough start.

Also, colleges realize there is more to an individual than their grades. SATs, ACTs, Extracurriculars, the passion and creativity you showcase in essays and volunteer work.

you're gonna have to work hard, it's gonna be tough, but it's not impossible. TIME TO CRACK DOWN ALEX! and don't give up until you turn in your last final for senior year.

  14. Oh wait you're not a senior.... Then that's even better!  You can do it girl!

  15. ? Yeah I hope I can, I'm starting to get all panic-y about my grades because I don't want to be an epic failure in life and my family is holding me on a pedestal (right word??? Idk)... They pressure me to make at least B's in my classes that I struggle in (math)... But I just can't.. Like for Algebra 2 I just don't understand and I can't go to tutoring because I have no ride to go home ?So I'm screwed.

  16. Gpa matters the mosti know from experience that failing a hard class is way worse than passing an easy class

  17. I think the main thing is that when you're studying, make sure you're doing it efficiently. It's no use spending hours when you're hardly getting into it, it's a waste of time and more stressful. Each day just run over what you've learnt and what will be hardest for you, and focus on those points more than things that are easy. Seems obvious, but people tend to study things that are easier to them to make themselves feel better.
I don't really understand the American education stuff but simple stuff like that helped me get good marks and a high rank score when I applied for university.

  18. The bad thing about me is when I study, I think I understand it and it seems simple and easy... Then I go and take a test and Fail miserably.

In algebra 2 (that class?) I understand when my teacher teaches us... I understand on the homework... But when I get the test I don't get it... But everyone in my class gets 80% or higher and I get 50% or below.... ??

  19. The trick is to use tricks and ways to remember things. Such as Acronyms , Songs (made up) , And Practice. ALG2 is easy as long as you practice the problems themeselves. ️
