“Bonzai” is Phenazepam (a benzodiazepine analogue) – a cheap but highly addictive synthetic drug that’s experiencing an incredible rise in popularity, especially in countries like Turkey where a bottle of local beer is 3 times as expensive as a dose of Bonzai. Turkish government, in a bid to battle alcohol abuse raised the price of beer several times in the recent years, but that lead to exponential rise in abuse of cheap street drugs like Bonzai. Unfortunately, Phenazepam derived drugs are notorious for making people black out and halucinate, while still being capable of moving around and thus, hurting themselves. 1 mg of Phenazepam is thought to be equivalent to 10 mg of Diazepam. Video below shows a Turkish man who got so high on Bonzai (also known as “poor man’s heroin”), he climbed on a roof of a building and thinking he was in a pool, nosedived to his death from there. The video is for the most part quiet, which only makes the cameraman’s “No, No, No!” and the subsequent splat so much more disturbing. What y'all think about this crazy shit?
