  20. “Tay! Would you hurry up? We’re going to be late,” Zoe shouted from the car.

Taylor rushed out of the house. With one shoe on, the other in her hand, her bag hanging off her shoulder, and a bagel in her mouth, Taylor was quite a sight. “I’m coming!” she screeched, “Tyler decided to dump cold water on me this morning. I couldn’t just let him off the hook! That took up half my morning.”

Andy laughed from behind the wheel. “Where is that boy anyway? Tay, please don’t tell me you killed him. I can’t drive a fugitive,” he joked.

“Oh, no. I was close, but my mom stopped us. Tyler should be out soon,” Taylor said.

“Speak of the devil,” Angie, Zoe and Taylor’s best friend, mumbled.

“Mornin’ ladies,” Tyler said as he hopped into the front seat.

    “Morning,” they all said.

Tyler and Andy did some handshake that they made up ages ago. They looked at each other and laughed. Andy started up the car and they were off to school. Normally, the girls chatted up a storm while the boys tried to drown them out with music. Today, however, Taylor decided to be quiet and observe.

She started with Angie and Zoe. The sixteen year olds were similar, in a different kind of way. Angie had long, chestnut colored hair. Her pretty emerald eyes were intriguing. They drew you in, but then her personality pushed you away right when you tried to get close. She was more one of the boys, but Taylor and Zoe finally pulled her away from the guys. The ying to her yang was Zoe. Zoe had charcoal black hair that went a little past her shoulders. Her deep blue eyes were like topaz gems. Both girls were 5”5” and skinny as twigs. They had athletic builds. Angie’s was from rodeo, while Zoe’s was from running. While Angie is more reserved, Zoe is extremely outgoing. She’s very friendly, but she can have quite a bit of a temper if you are mean to her friends.

Taylor’s eyes wandered to her twin brother. The six foot baseball star had coffee brown hair and a muscular build with a perfect tan. His eyes were a strange hazel color. They were very pretty though. He had some of the best eyes that he had ever seen in a guy. It’s no wonder that he was the most popular sophomore in their entire school. He was loved by everyone. Taylor on the other hand was quite the opposite. She was 5’6 and had very long wavy blonde hair. Her sky blue eyes were very majestic and mysterious. She was slightly pale and also had an athletic build from running and playing volleyball. When she thought about herself, she didn’t really find herself to be pretty in the slightest. Boys, however, find that to be the most beautiful thing of all in her. She’s extremely shy when she doesn’t feel comfortable. When she’s with the girls, however, she is extremely spastic and fun. When she is comfortable in a situation or when she knows someone, they can never get her to shut up.

The last of them was Andy. Andy was a year older than the rest of them. He also happened to be Zoe’s older brother. Andy was a lot like Tyler, just the older version. He had long brown hair that swooped to the side and crystal blue eyes that you could just get lost in. He had a strong muscular build and Taylor happened to know that he hides a six pack under his oversized hoodies. He was a total flirt and, much like Tyler, was very popular with the ladies. For some reason though, he was always single. He claims to enjoy the single life, but Taylor seems to think that he has his eye on a specific person; she just doesn’t know who. He was on the baseball team with Tyler, so the two of them have gotten really close the past few years. That was the only way that the girls could get Andy to drive them around was if Tyler was coming with them. That’s how they’re carpool worked so well.

The car came to a stop and Taylor snapped out of her thoughts. They all got out of the convertible and grabbed their things. They all seemed to fall in line. It went Andy, then Tyler, then Taylor, then Zoe, then Angie. They all stopped in front of the school and saw the “Welcome back Vikings!” signs posted on the door. “Welcome back to high school,” Andy said just as the bell rang.
