I have a serious fear of white bics. Like, I won't even sell them to my customers, nor buy ones with the plastic wrap in fear of a white lighter underneath. I broke my elbow the first time I had a white one, and then got hit by a car the second time with another white lighter. Superstition or not, I refuse to carry or sell white lighters ?
I'm from Florida and we had tons of Drive Thru convenience stores/gas station convenience there... But now I'm no longer living there, we moved up North and there are absolutely NONE around. Maybe it depends on the areas?? I've actually never heard this myth...lol

White lighters!!!!! They are usually white cause making it another colour means adding master batch in the injection moulding process!!!! That adds cost!!!!
