The company who produced this shirt has had another outfit in the past that caused controversy as well. They realize that publicity, good or bad, gains attention.

You're absolutely right Beryl And -UNAGAD0RI- I've never seen anything like this on any current Kent State student nor have I seen anything like it around their campus, but provide me with some evidence of what you're talking about because I find that extremely appalling as well. And very disheartening ?
And yes -Prince-Charming- I know of a few, the children's "sheriff" top and the graphic 'Depression' and 'Eat Less' tops. I find the "sheriff" top to be as offensive and blatant as the Kent State sweatshirt for personal reasons.
ok I will Look up these bands: Burn Blue Sky⇦flipping awesome band The Unclean⇦they're a jammy band, i highly reccomend. But some of their artwork is ehh a little risque. Fully Consumed⇦they've some extreme artwork and songs. Those are just the one's I know off hand because I've friends in those bands. The kent metal scene is huge though
Cool check em out they play The Outpost all the time! The Unclean is my favorite! I don't get to go to shows like I used to, but I highly recommend them all! Kent has great bands! And since the person on my wall doesn't read well I'll repeat, the shirt is distasteful. But Kent is full of distasteful tshirts.

It's stupid, but that's what marketing people do. It's the same as tabloids, muckraking, and sensationalistic journalism.
They have a habit of being a horrible clothing store, with many discriminatory, disrespectful and shirts in horrible taste. It's unfortunate that the tragic loss of lives becomes a joke or now "trendy fashion".
Oh I see, well what do they depict? Either way I find the retailer more guilty seeing as their clothing is available to the entire country (and other countries as well) and can receive scrutiny and still won't be penalized. Although local bands creating what they consider to be righteous political imagery for their local following... seems odd to me. More twisted in a bad, disrespectful way and to that I say they are in the wrong as well. But it doesn't really create an impact on the public, because even I don't know of those groups really or have ever seen that though I am near... but I'm still interested in knowing what they depict because I could try and understand it.
And indeed Kitty I know this to be true... I think it fits in well with what seems to be the theme of the younger generations. Desensitization can be a very good thing... in certain aspects. But in ways such as this, or for example a high school classroom laughing at the video of the assassination of John F. Kennedy (this I witnessed and it still gets my blood boiling). It's despicable. A universal capacity for a complete lack of respect, it's a serious problem. And it makes a lot of highly offensive things marketable, and popular these days.
