Hi guys, so I'm working on a long term series/story thing. Hope you like it... Chapter 1 I stood in the living room, watching all the happy people outside, enjoying their summer vacation, where I'm here, at home, alone, with nothing to do. Hi, my name is Ella. I'm 16 and I have a single father who does his best to keep me alive.. I'm not your typical teenage girl. When I was 4 I was diagnosed with both cancer and diabetes. I'm a very small girl, I'm only 5'3 and I am very thin, but that's the cancers fault. I have hazel eyes and slight freckles, with naturally blushed cheeks. Sometimes I wonder why my mother left me. She left 2 months after I was diagnosed, which puts me under the impression that she left me because of my health issues.. My dad claims he doesn't know, but I have a feeling he is lying to me... May 23 "Ella, honey, wake up. It's late, you can't sleep all day. Go outside, make some friends, sweetheart." My dad shakes me and I yawn as I slowly wake up. "Ugh, dad. You dont get it, no one will want to be friends with me." I frown and start standing up as I grab my shots. "Honey, you dont know that. Maybe people here are different than they are in New York." He walks out, shutting the door behind him as I change into a blue tank top and light blue denim distressed shorts. Once I'm dressed I sit at my vanity and put on my makeup. "Ella, sweety! Breakfast!" run downstairs and write down what I'm eating so I know how much insulin I need. "You look nice." He smiles and begins eating his hotcakes. "Thanks.." I stand up, grab my purse, puts on my sandals and kiss his head as I grab a granola bar incase I get low later. "bye dad." I walk out, very nervous, knowing that people are going to look at me like I'm some kind of mutant...
I'm most likely not going to continue this series, I was told by someone that I could publish this in real life and that someone could steal this story.
Chapter 2 Once I walk outside people see me and stop what they're doing to watch me. I felt so awkward and out of place. My dad waved to me through the window with his freakishly long and skinny arms. He mouthed the words "I love you, good luck". Of course I was happy he said that, but it was disgusting since his mouth was stuffed with pancakes. A young girl, maybe around the age of 7 walked up to me and looked down. "you're very pretty, miss." She spoke with a very soft and soothing voice, as if she knew everything about me, and how scared I was. I looked down at her, shocked. "Why thank you!" I smiled very big and she looked up at me. Her face was very slim, but she had the cutest chubby cheeks and dimples. Her right eye was covered in tissue and gauze, but her left eye was green, almost silver. I really couldn't tell. She looked up at me with happiness and sadness in her eye. "I know exactly how you feel. I'm Andrea."
Chapter 3 As Andrea and I played on the swingset it began to get dark. She yawned and jumped off of the swing once it slowed down. "I'm getting tired. Do you think you could walk me home please? I don't like to be by myself and I'm home alone tonight." She looked up at me and I nodded. "Sure sweetie!" I smiled and grabbed her hand as she started walking down Monroe street. I smiled, seeing that she was my neighbor. "Hey Andrea, that's my house!" I pointed to my house which was right next to hers. She smiled super big. "Really?!" I giggled and walked her inside of my house. "Dad I'm home!" I shouted pretty loud. I could tell because Andrea cringed. She was hopping around, you could tell she was happy that I was her neighbor. My dad walked down the stairs and yawned. "Welcome home honey. Who's this spritely little angel?" He smiled and held her shoulders down gently so she would stop bouncing. She turned to him and he looked a bit confused. "I'm Andrea! I'm Elle's new bestest friend!" She giggled and grabbed my hand. "Dad, she's home alone tonight. Do you think she could sleep over?" He closed his eyes happily and nodded as if he were in some kind of anime. It was kinda creepy, just saying. Andrea's eye lit up, not knowing I was going to invite her over for the night. "Thanks dad! Come on Andrea, let's go to your house and get you some of your things that you'll need." Andrea started running to the door, dragging me along behind her like a puppy. We walked to her house and grabbed her some pajamas, her stuffed bunny, her blanket, a pillow, he hairbrush, and some clothes for tomorrow. She stuffed her things into a back pack and hopped downstairs to her kitchen. "I need to get my medicine." We both smiled as I nodded. After she grabbed her things we walked back to my house. Once we got back to my house I set her up on the pull-out couch, with me next to her since my bed was small, and we wouldn't both fit on it and I didn't want her alone downstairs, or on the floor. "Thank you for taking such good care of me, Elle." She hugged me tight, as if she were sad. "You're welcome sweetie." I looked down at her, my arms wrapped around her tightly. "Are you okay?" She looked up at me, her eye filled with tears again. "I don't know how to tell you..." My eyes widened, wondering what she was going to say.
I'm finally back! Sorry I haven't posted in a long while, I've been really busy and I've had writers block. Hopefully you will like this update!! Chapter 4 I just stared at her, looking deep into her eyes. I was so scared, I had no idea what she could possibly say. She looked away for a second, then looked right back up at me, sniffling. "My mom... She..." My eyes widened even more. "Before I was born, my dad left and yesterday my mom.. well she..." She just sat there, frozen. My heart sunk, knowing that this little girls mother was gone, along with her father. I wonder if she has anyone else? I sighed, knowing she didn't. "I'm so sorry Andrea..." She wiped her eye and curled up into a ball. She started speaking again. "I don't have anyone else, Ella. Everyone in my family is either dead or in prison." My jaw dropped, I felt so bad, I have so much, yet she has so little. I pulled her hair off of her face and into a pony tail. I kissed her head and stood up. "Stay here" I slightly whispered. She nodded as I walked away. I went into my fathers room and he looked at me. My eyes were filled with tears. He looked worried... I wonder what he was thinking? "Dad... Can I ask you something?" He nodded and stood up. "Of course sweetie, what's the matter?" He came over to me and rubbed my shoulder, to help calm me. I was about to burst into tears. I barely knew Andrea, yet I felt so close to her. "Andreas mother.. She um.. She died yesterday." I looked into his eyes. You could see that his heart just fell into a million pieces, then sunk to the bottom of his stomach. He slightly gasped the second I said the word 'died'. "W-what? She's.. D-dead?!" I nodded and looked away. His voice shivered with every word he spoke. He lifted my chin up so I was looking into his eyes. Both of our eyes were filled with tears. "Go get everything of Andrea's and bring it here." He sounded so sure, as if he loved her like a daughter. I didn't say anything, I just nodded and walked out. I went into the living room where Andrea and I are sleeping for a while. I put on her shoes and picked her up. She slowly began to wake as we walked out. "Huh?" She rubbed her eyes and yawned as she spoke so silently. "What's going on?" She looked at me. I smiled very slightly. "We're going to get your things from your house. As we got to her house she kept asking why we were here, I said it was a surprise. "Go pack up all of your things, I'll be up in a minute." She ran up to her room as I walked around her trashed home. Broken bottles of glass, holes in walls. I wonder how her mother died. I went up to help Andrea, but she was already on her way down with a small little bag of things. "Is that all of your stuff?" She nodded and my heart sunk again. She was poor. I looked at the floor again and thought. Her mother was dead, an alcoholic and she's poor. "Stay here." I went upstairs and into her mothers room, finding so many things that Andrea should never see. Her mother was a drug dealing prostitute.
