Regardless of your age, background, and personality, everyone has a goal or dream for how they'd like to live their life. It might be something like landing your dream job, travelling the world, having a family, owning a home, showcasing an artistic talent - the list is endless! However, things can be tough sometimes, and it can be hard to stay focused on your goals. School, work, family and friends, as well as financial stress can all be distracting and frustrating. So, what are your goals, and how do you stay on track as you move towards them? And when things get tough, how do you cope with it and keep yourself motivated? My goals are to finish my psych degree, gain experience in the human resources field, and eventually start my own organisational psychology consultancy firm. I want to do something to revolutionise the way people work, to make as many workplaces as rewarding as possible, while still maintaining safety and profit I'd also love to have a family, and make up crazy traditions for my kids to pass down to their own My motivation comes from being the first person in my family to go to university, and wanting to succeed and be a role model for my brother How about you?
Great thread as always Ahlie To be honest, I'm still figuring out my goals and I'm at a very confused stage of life. But it makes me feel a lot better when I know I can make a good impact in people's lives even if it's small.
My motivation is my dignity. I'd be a worthless piece of ****/ embarassment in the family if I didn't become a doctor or a lawyer. So yeah.
Nick, I know the feeling.. Seeing people work towards goals used to be insulting and intimidating at the same time.. ? took me a long time to work out what I wanted to do.. Justin, is law or medicine something you'd really want to do, or is there something else you'd love to do?
Those are my two choices. I'm only 18, so I'm not that sure yet. I wanna be professional, I just don't want to be an embarassment in the family. Cause that's weird. Anyways, I got this.
if that's the case, I'd choose law.. Not gonna lie, there's something sexy about the way laws are written, in absolute definition ?
My motivation - seeing those who struggle hurts me... eg a guy dying in a car crush age 15 and his twin brother 15 in the back sit ... but he only hard a minor injury.. it sucks.. how the twins life will change forever lossing someone who has been side to side with him all his life... life is unfair.. the motivation to help as many people in the world will always be in.. Life can end in an instant, take time to maybe make anyone you can happy... I mean you may say "so seeing people struggle is what motivates u ..so u want people to struggle " well no what motivates is...what if i was there to stop the struggle! What if i was there to make sure such incidents didnt happen... what if i could make peoples lives Better.
That's a very noble goal, Shuddup! Takes a lot of strength to be there for others as well as yourself And yeah, Justin, it's like the ultimate in grammar
after my dad passed away when i was 16! i had to join my dad business at 16 and from that day my only goal is to earn lots of money lots of money and ofcourse my dream to have a gf/wife with big booty(not tooooo big) hahaha
Great thread here My goals r to complete my special education & gender studies degrees, win Fulbright, and graduate with honors. After that i want to sign up for peace corps or go straight into working for an organization fighting for women's and children's rights. I guess my motivation comes from my grandparents, as well as things that ive seen abroad/ read abt that have been unfair. And i believe everyone has the right to a "good life", so i want to dedicate mine to making sure as many ppl as possible have access to that kind of life (or at the very least, one where their basic needs r met)
?Good luck with your goal, it sounds awesome. My goal is to become a surgeon and help take care and improve of one of the most important things in people's lives, their health.
