When I am calling 911 on my cell,do I press 9 then 1 one ? That will be a stupid question , but actually helpful to the person asking.
If people are just asking the question to be annoying then I'll punch them in the throat. But if they legitimately don't know, I think it's fine.
If you never ask, you'll never know. There is no such thing as a stupid question. If someone asks you a question in order to educate themselves off your knowledge, and you jump to the conclusion that it's a stupid question. Then you infact are stupid. This discludes sarcastic questions
No question is stupid. If one person had to ask, I'm sure there's at least 2 other people in the room wondering the same thing, at least in school. Although, I do find some people to be profoundly stupid to the point of causing physical pain.

Mags, you would have a field day with some of my uni peers.. We're all second year students, and so many of them still ask stupid questions.. Simple stuff like "Do we have tutorials this week?" a) it's week one, and there are never tutes in the first week, b) that info is available EVERYWHERE, c) it would've taken the same amount of time to just check your subject timetable as it did for you to type that stupid question ? I wonder how some of them actually cope with uni research if they can't find the answer to such simple questions
But what if the question that they ask to educate them self seems stupid or common sense? Would you then consider it dumb?
they're shockingly bad.. We have eLearning sites with dedicated forums for each subject, yet they never check them.. Would save them so much time if they did
Yes I believe in stupid questions. If someone has a gun up to your head and you ask "What are you going to do with that?", you just asked a stupid question.
