Disclaimer: this will be a long post with hopefully longer responses, if you don't like reading I suggest you stop here. So I've been reading this book lately and happened to come across a quote I found profound and I would like to hear others thoughts, opinions, ect about the quote and what others think. "When we think along there lines, we come to realize that extreme emotions such as attachment--and particularly anger and hatred--are very destructive when they arise in us and that they are also very destructive when they arise in others! One could almost say that these emotions are the real destructive forces of the universe. We might go further and say that most of the problems and suffering we experience, which are essentially of our own making, are ultimately created by these negative emotions. One could say that all suffering is in fact the result or fruit of negative emotions such as attachment, greed, jealousy, pride, anger, and hatred." The Dalai Lama I encourage you to leave comments below. ️ ~Cherry
Cherry, I agree with the quote. Life is all about your attitude towards any situation you are ace with. Approach with a negative outlook and it will be bound to fail, approach with a positive and you'll receive. Which is probably why I make it a habit to at hi to at least 1 stranger a day, or smile. Although I just flipped someone off an hour ago, I'll do twice my good Katma.
You're very welcome, Cherry. Nice to see someone using their brain for once instead of "support" or "no supports."
I think it's natural to have negative emotions, I do believe however that how you respond to situations can make or break that the outcome of said situation. For example if you meet a already angry person with anger or indifference it doesn't calm them down usually, instead it increases their anger. Whereas reacting calm and patiently increases the rewards. As a side note, I used to be very active on forums, and I prefer to use my brain. Not fond of supports or no supports. @pickles
