well if u know when Obama visited India he admited Indian Education system is far better as compared to US 'We cant let our Kids to be Mediocre when they are competing with Indian kids' qouted by Barack Obama
Proof of educational issues in the US are the guy who told me that when the Brits tried to invade the US, good ole 'murica stopped us getting in. Not sure who he thought you gained independence from
It's been awhile since I was in school, and I went to school in West Virginia. The state that is supposed to have some of the lowest test state cores in the country. My education far surpassed many of my friends from other states. We had a very strict curriculum and grading scale. There were no grading curves. 93%-100%=A 85%-92%=B 77%-84%=C 76%-65%=D 64% or below=F We had many classes in middle school and high school that taught "life skills", including math classes that taught taxes, banking etc. I was able to take college courses and get certified in several things before graduation. So, not all schools in the US are awful. Many of the people who failed, simply didn't care. They chose not to learn and that's their fault, and the parents fault, not the school system.
This is why I'm getting an education degree schools in Illinois are already slowly turning to Crap and, to be honest, the 10-point grading scale is one of my least favorite things! so when I start teaching I'm gonna do what I can to change that
On a 4.0 scale, an F gets 0 points, D gets 1 point, C gets 2 points, B gets 3 points, and an A gets 4 points. A 2.2 is around a C.
Depends on what school and what grade. 60 was a D here and it was barely passing grade. Now I'm pretty sure in the nearby colleges that a 60 or a D is failing.
Proof of education failure in the us is myself,I've bested my class and my science teacher in experiments before(ever made a boat out of a 2 foot by 1 foot sheet of thin tinfoil that can carry five pounds easily while someone else's sunk when it was put in the water?) and I also got in the top three on district benchmarks,I got a D in the class.
Well in the U.S our schools are one of the lowest ranks compared to pretty much in any other country even Germany children kick our kids butt in academics it's not really our fault mainly just how society is today and how some schools teach you have some teachers who actually tech and you have those who don't and make it frustrating on the underclass men I mean even though we are low ranked in a lot of fields of academics our "Great Country" does pass on by with it self some how.. Yep
Yeah actually our schools are pretty bad. I think that I was fortunate enough to be able to go to a private school for high school, however. And the courses were very rigorous; they offered college level courses for us sophomore through senior year. And our science and math department was stellar. BUT I do know (and I'm pretty sure this isn't just for my state) that common core is being introduced to sort of level the playing field for students that attend public schools.
